I feel they handled the Loki/Sylvie kiss very well; Sylvie initiates, but doesn't make clear how she's actually feeling, as Loki is the one giving the big emotional speech. Depending on whether you're onboard with the craziness of their quasi-selfcest, you could read the scene as either _"She loves Loki, but sent him away for his own safety"_ or _"She kissed Loki to distract him, so she could grab Kang's device and open a portal."_

Definitely a good choice! I personally don't like them as a romantic pairing but considering the show was clearly going that way I'm glad we had that scene that way. It acknowledged that they don't actually know each other at all and sylvie got to show some independence. Gives her some more depth as a possible adversary rather than just a weird vibes love interest (Sharon Carter all over again)

I think it was just a final kiss of goodbye. Sylvie is still a single goal Loki. We want her to have went to the void to be with Loki but i think it was still about her one goal. Our Loki turned on Thor even after both of their parents died. It would be unrealistic to think that she would be open to reason given she didn’t even have the life Loki had and has been living in apocalypses all her life.

This ending is such a rollercoaster ride. I was not prepared but the character moment were so great. Loki opening himself up, the weight being released from Sylvie’s shoulders after killing He Who Remains, B-15 and Mobius sharing that moment of “into the unknown we go”, Ravonna setting herself up to possibly be the only person to remember Loki and his part in all of this. I’m excited for season 2

Loki started the season with nothing. Unfamiliar place, no family. Only himself. He ended the season the same way. Sylvie betrayed him, Mobius doesn’t remember him, in a completely new TVA. Only this time it hurts even more because he was SO CLOSE to having it. Someone who loves him as he is, a friend who understands him, and control of his own fate.

sylvie didn't betray him, she was just fulfiling her own glorious purpose. As she said that she was pruned thousands of years before Loki was born, so it was her whole life, she has been trying to reach this point for eons and once she reached it she couldn't give it up, so she gave up her feelings for Loki and destiny of the whole universe just to get her own vendetta with man, who destroyed her life. Loot at these from Sylvie's POV, she felt herself betrayed too, because she and Loki had a deal to kill the creator of the TVA and then Loki stepped back for a greater good, but she couldn't do it, that's all.

How did she betray him? Betrayal would mean she told him she agreed with him, then went against him and did her own thing anyway, she didn’t do that. She told him non stop she didn’t agree with him, knew he wouldn’t stop and she didn’t want to kill him (so already better than other Loki’s) so she took her one chance to get that kiss and sent him away so she could do her thing. It’s not a betrayal, it’s just not what Loki wanted 🤷🏼 TEAM SYLVIE!! The price of freedom isn’t free, but now they have the free will to fight for it!

@@Drummer4President hmm that's interesting! I don't even 100% disagree with you, I just see at least part of her actions as a betrayal of their relationship and trust. She immediately assumed the worst of him - that it had all been a power play and he didn't actually join her because he cared about her or believed in her. That to me is an emotional betrayal. I think that's the thing that hurts him most. But her action in killing Kang may not be a betrayal in the true sense, though I do think it's a form of it, in that her mission was always at least partially about protecting others from the TVA and I think it's a bit of a betrayal of that to not even stop and consider the new information she's been given. Again, I don't even think she should have done something differently! But her actions and emotions there are super complex I think. That's all! :)

I like how the writer make it different timelines for the future *MCU* phase that we gonna see *Kang the Conqueror in Antman and The Wasp:Quantumania* in the future. *THANK YOU MARVEL FOR THE CLIFFHANGING!* As we all see by the Sylvie’s face that she kinda regret with her decision. The person they’re talking to is Immortus, he was destined to become Kang the conqueror and was separated from him in the comics by the time keepers. It appears in the MCU he is trying to keep the branches pruned because he knows kang will return, Sylvie killing him is what releases kang and all his alternate versions. In layman’s terms…. The shit in the mcu is about to get Crazy with a capital C.

We just witnessed the birth of the multiverse in the MCU, and we saw a variant of Kang, the new big bad. This was a awesome episode for the MCU as a whole, maybe a bit less so as a season finale for the show. I'm now very much looking forward to Ant-man, Spiderman and Doctor Strange, since all these movies will be dealing with some multiverse stuff. Everyone thought that Wandavision would start the multiverse, but of course it turned out to be a Loki. A Loki started The Avengers, and now a Loki starts the multiverse. I'm very curious to see if Kang will be popping up in the other movies, since the actor has officially only been anounced for Ant man. I'm also wondering what they are going to do with Renslayer. In the comics she is Kang's wife/lover, but the MCU always does things their own way. Marvel just properly started the new multiverse phase, and I am here for it.

I saw in another reaction video (ReelRejects) where they suggested that Loki ended up in the WRONG TVA (since there are now multiple branch lines supposedly each with their own TVA). This would mean that it wasn't our Mobius Loki was talking to (i really hope so cause this keeps me sane LOL). I am so heartbroken 😭 Also, this may be an unpopular opinion, but I don't think Sylvie betrayed Loki. ReelRejects framed it very nicely: it wasn't about trust or love, it was about the core character drive and completing the mission. Like you said Sylvie was too emotional, she wasn't in the condition to reason. Sylvie cares for Loki which is why she sent him away to keep him safe. By proclaiming that they are not the same, I think she meant from the perspective of revenge/mission/killing the man in charge. I do think that the kiss was genuine; it was like a farewell kiss in a way. However, at the same time, I would understand for Loki to feel hurt and betrayed by being taken out of the equation. Sylvie might regret what she has done (she looked very defeated after killing Immortus, kind of thinking "well what do i do now"). Hopefully she'll get her redemption (her form of 'Ragnarok') that she deserves.

This is REALLY going to blow your mind. Mobius and B15 did NOT forget who Loki was. THEY never knew who he was. That was a DIFFERENT Mobius and B15 than who WE all knew. They are all in a different timeline now. The timeline had already branched by the time Sylvie sent Loki back to the TVA. Think of back to the future 2 where the timeline was changed when Marty lost the sports book back in 1955 and then Biff became super rich (and Marty’s stepfather) and Marty’s town became a dumpster fire when he returned to 1985. That’s kind of what happened here.

@Sesskasays, I particularly like how Loki didn't blame Sylvie--he said, "WE made a mistake." Loki's hurt sure, but I think he understands why Sylvie did what she did. I'd like to think that he sat their wonder to himself what he could have done differently to get her to see things the way he did. Sylvie's problem is that she's a Loki. She knows what Lokis do, and while she knows Loki, she can't help but feel that Loki's being Loki. Like she said, it was quite the pickle that she and Loki found themselves in. Sylvie started this, so I figure that she'll have to be the one to fix it. I think Ravonna Renslayer will too, as it turns out she's not exactly evil. I don't know her role in the MCU, but in the comics she's Kang's love interest--it wasn't reciprocated. Despite all the power Nathaniel Richards commanded, Kang's birthname, he likely couldn't make Ravonna fall for him, but he seemingly couldn't let her go either. It would appear that he put her in a position of power to ensure that he would never return and he left a piece of her inside of her to keep her on mission. She doesn't know why she does what she does, but she feels very strongly that the TVA must continue to do what it does, and we now know why--Kang built the TVA to prevent himself from ever returning. Time, in the MCU, doesn't just move forward, but it is also begins again, as time is on a loop, constantly repeating itself. This series reminded us of that one last time last week with the USS Eldridge showing up in the void out of nowhere. Mobius, Loki and Sylvie showed us that people pruned are immediately sent to the void, so why would a 78 year old WWII ship be showing up now with it's crew? ...because time is on a loop. Loki was on a loop--this series started back in 2012 reliving a moment that already happened; yes, it ended differently, but that's not important, as it was her first clue that time repeats itself. This episode opened with a montage of everything that came before, and while most people found it as a really cool opening, I can't help but feel that many missed the fact that we watched the multiverse die and come back again. Kang even tells Loki and Sylvie that he's lived a million lives and has been doing this for a long time and that the TVA was the only way he could let life continue, albeit scripted. It's messed up, sure, but it is better than a younger ambitious version of himself running things. I can't wait to see how this story continues. This was so much fun.

I loved this episode and for me it was on the same level as Endgame, but i think if you are unaware of who "He Who Remains" is and how huge his role is in the MCU going forward this episode may feel slightly underwhelming. When he showed up on screen i gasped and got goosebumps, Jonathan Majors performance was amazing, the feeling of dread and horror running throughout the episode was fantastic, knowing who he is and what is to come... it was like watching a documentary on a serial killer, you know all the horrible things they did and watching there origins gives you chills.

I've seen people comment on this as where Loki finally learns what it feels like to be betrayed, but I think that forgets that, in his own mind, *he's* the betrayed one. So from his (admittedly slightly warped perspective) Sylvie's another Odin or Laufey or Thor - someone who acted like they were family, or *should* have done, but who's stabbed him in the back and abandoned him.

First I have to say, I'm glad we got a finale where there were high stakes, an emotional confrontation BUT we didn't lose either Mobius, Loki or Sylvie. I was worried at least one of them would die and I would have understood but be gutted. Renslayer is interesting. She's been shifty from the beginning, and it's ramped up and up until her pruning Mobius in ep4. But through all that, even when she was clearly lying I always believed that she felt something for Mobius and valued him as a friend. I think there's more back story there and I hope we get to see it. Sylvie. Oh Sylvie. A scared little girl who's had to be tough (who found a lonely little boy who pretends he doesn't care). I get why she did what she did. Breaks my heart that she did. For the fact that she must feel heart-broken to do it, for Loki who's clearly devastated, and for the consequences. I think we might see a redemption arc in S2, I just hope it isn't one where she ends up sacrificing herself.

She needed to go through with it in order to move on and heal. Upholding an evil system is hardly a viable option either. No doubt there will be an option to help end the Kang and the war (albeit at a cost),

They always said it would be a multiple seasons show unlike the others, but I thought it would be like several long movies, with a real ending each times, so when I saw the cliffhanger coming I thought 'they wouldn't....' but they did..... can't wait for season 2 ^^

This is setting up season two of Loki, but also (and more directly) setting up Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Antman Quantumania. Now there potentially could be different variants of Kang to defeat in multiple MCU movies, played slightly differently by Jonathan Majors.

Good episode love the portrayal of Kang (hopefully he gets the purple TV helmet in Quantumania) Bit of a anticlimactic ending but it's setting up a second season so I'm excited

It's kind of crazy none of this would have happened if Loki had been pruned at the start of the series. Essentially, Selvie at worse would have made it to the robots and either would have been killed or pruned and then killed trying to charm Alioth on her own. Similarly, its cool to see the most powerful being in reality was an immortal man who invented a time machine and the devil he feared was himself. Overall, really cool show and it is kinda scary that the natural state of reality is an infinite multiverse where one guy goes to war with himself and threatens all of it. Selvie falls into the rut of being a "loki" because she lacks the same character growth Loki has and still lives in her rage and grief at what was taken from her. It totally makes sense she would do what she did and she kinda frees reality from a tyrant. Loki has a whole plate of issues to deal with in Season 2. Ravonna is probably off doing a back-up plan from "he who remains" whatever that is.

I think Sylvie sent Loki to an alternate TVA. Hence Mobius doesn't know him....OR the breaking of the timeline changed Loki's initial presence with TVA. I also think when the timeline started branching, that was because of the judge going through the doorway.

It depends on how the MCU deals with changed time. Either it’ll be a parallel world BECAUSE time has changed or it’s the original timeline but it’s been changed.

This show sets up Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, Loki season 2 (obviously), and Antman and the Wasp: Quantumania, and probably a few other things. We know MvoM comes out March 2022, and QM comes out Feb 2023, I think Loki s2 will come out between the shows, but I'm not positive, we will have to see but it seems to fit unless they already filmed S2 with S1.

I don't think this sets up Doctor Strange 2 (which already should have come out immediately after WandaVision). Although the Nexus commercial in WandaVision makes me think something in that show was a Nexus event that should have been pruned but wasn't. I think that without Covid messing up the shedule, the Loki show was intended to start explaining some of the weird stuff we should already have seen in the movies that already should have been out.
