@@eyes_in that was an exact quote from Mobius. There's _supposed_ to be "No time" (at least "no time _as we know it")_ at the TVA, which is why Loki time-slipping there was "impossible." At the very least, this is the likely reason for the "rules of time travel" being different there than outside the TVA.

Changing the past within a regular universe (like the main MCU universe) creates a new branched timeline (like the time heist Loki universe that got pruned when he was taken to the TVA). Both the TVA and the Citadel at the End of Time exist OUTSIDE of time and OUTSIDE of the multiverse timelines, and timeslipping is a cosmic level power that allows for timeywimey weirdness.

I think the reason it works differently here is because there's only one TVA across all timelines, and it exists along its own individual timeline, meaning that any changes made there will change that one specific future that the TVA experiences, whereas outside of the TVA, traveling through time seems to basically take you to a different reality where time is currently at the point you're trying to reach. That's why the Avengers (or I guess Cap specifically) had to go back and return the Infinity Stones and Mjolnir to the universes they took them from. Also, I like how this seems to be alluding to the comics, where Loki has become the God of Stories and basically has the ability to manipulate the narrative of the medium he's in. At least, that's what the "I can rewrite the story" line feels like it's referencing. But maybe it just seemed like a good line. Who knows.

It's actually explained very well by the fact that in the tva time will always move in a straight line and you can't create a branch because you are outside of existence, thus if you travel to the past and change something in the tva that it actually does alter the future because there are no branches while what professors hulk is talking about is the different branches created when you time travel from inside the main time line.

there are 2 types of timetravel. First, as shown in Endgame where they exit their present timeline and travel through an alternate dimension to a different point in time. Second, the best example is the flash scene in the snydercut at the end where he reverses time and space to revert the entire universe to a point in the past. loki has a similar power to that and that's how his time travel works. since he's actually reversing time it becomes as though the future never happened thereby giving him the opportunity to make changes and create a different outcome.

In Loki because Loki was time-slipping he existed in one place, at one point in time. The way I see it, time is a linear nonlinear line. Even if you go back in time, you yourself are still moving forward, regardless of what rewrites or events you change. That line only stops at a point if you make a change that stops you from existing. Basically, no matter how many times you time travel, you will still continue to age and grow old.

I think there is a difference between time traveling and time slipping. Time traveling is moving back and forth within a time line. You can’t change a timeline from the inside. Loki on the other hand, was able to travel to other timelines. That means when he time slipped he actually exited the timeline. He may have traveled to another point within the same time line, but he did it externally. It’s like a character in a physical book trying to change something written in the book versus coming out of the book into a higher dimension where the book resides, now being able to pick up the book, erase text, and write new text.

Theory: "Timeline" is the collection of "strings" of time which belongs to individuals. When others time travel, their "string" gets connected to the previous instance of the "Timeline" creating a branch (a new consequence). While Loki, however is now a separate existence from his "string" (because he is ripped from time with the [Temporal Aura Extractor] + he mastered Time Control and has knowledge about Quantum Physics so might somehow and infused it with his magic) but his "string" still follows him around. He doesn't "time travel", he himself as a separate existence can go back to a time on his "string", altering it completely, rewriting the "consequence" of his own, therefore altering his story.

From what I can tell. Marvel has decided that every single conscious being has their own timeline and from their point of view. So the past (if you travel to it) becomes your future and thus you cannot change your future

That’s a different form of time travelling. The Avengers were just travelling to past points in their history by time machine, which meant that past versions of themselves were roaming around at the same time as their present selves. And therefore, yes, them changing their past would not change their future as per Hulk Banner. Loki was time slipping into his own body as it was at that point in his past. Essentially his consciousness was travelling into his own past body, like Logan in Days of Future Past. This meant that Loki could literally make the history different. Just like Logan could.
