Scary part of life is thinking there might be a forever ending but it is so far ahead that we will never prove it right or wrong. The fact that the universe might just turn into a dead pile of atoms for the rest of time does scare me. Rather see infinite big bangs.

@@AnirudhNaik-i3sNot really. In our country student loan is not really a thing. People will graduate , get a job and pay bills and that's it. The only thing is either you won't be able to finish school or go to school if you don't have financial resources. But some get scholarships or work young while studying to pay off tuition fees until they graduate. Quite the hassle but at least you're free of school debt if and once you graduate. Nothing impossible. You're only real challenge and thing you put effort is to get a decent and stable job, own a property and pay bills. However, nothing unachievable and will put you to a lifetime of debt unless you're very bad at planning and make stupid decisions.

Let ME rephrase that: If we want to evolve into a civilization filled with extraordinary advancements, we NEEDED TO START FIXING THE ECOSYSTEM SIXTY YEARS AGO! Now, it is too damn late. We won't even make it off the ground to inhabit another planet or moon. The very notion of doing so is nothing more than a pipe dream. Humanity will forever be earthbound. If we survive the next billion years, that's how much longer we have. But I doubt it. We have only about 200 years left. My reasoning is how fast technology is progressing. Cars and flight were very primitive in 1924. Now in 2024, we have AI, hydrogen bombs, biological pathogens locked up in labs, biotech, plus more and it's exponential.

you say the distances of stars are hundreds of billions of kilometers. A bit little because if 1 light year is about 9,460,800,000,000 km, then the nearest (!) star to us from the Proxima system is about 42,573,600,000,000 km, and that already gives 42,000 billion. It's as if we wanted to collide grains of sand by throwing it from the Earth and you from, for example, Mars.

It's all very well talking about solar energy and wind turbines, but we'll eventually run out of copper and lithium (plus a lot more). If we aren't mining asteroids and moons soon, we won't have the resources to build a ship capable of mining. It'll be stone age stuff in the future

Here, let me do it for you. "We'd have to set up shop in other planetary systems within the Milky Way." I know this was an oversight because as I type this, you're talking about the merger of our galaxy and the Andromeda galaxy.
