In the 1st episode of season 1 Loki is told that his purpose is to fail so that others can become their greatest selves. Leave it to Loki to take that to heart and spend the final episode failing so that he can find a way to give everyone in every timeline the chance to become their best selves. Fucking amazingly poetic. The god of outcasts is now the god of unification. The god of mischief is now the god of stories, lies become truths.

Loki saved reality by creating and becoming Yggdrasil, the World Tree that supports the Heavens. It's a Norse mythology thing.

It wasn't that he chose not to kill Sylvie just for her sake. Killing Sylvie would mean that He Who Remains would stay alive and the sacred timeline and the TVA would remain the staus quo when they're trying to allow the multiverse to exist. So, he made a 3rd option, he destroyed the loom and took its place, but instead of the loom weaving multiple timelines into one sacred timeline, he cultivated all those timelines thru him allowing the multiverse to take shape as Yggdrasil, the norse tree of life or the asgardian world tree. Allowing the multiverse to exist along with the TVA. Allowing the multiverse to exist doesn't really mean that nothing will exist outright, He Who Remains just believes his Kang War is inevitably going to be it's downfall, but that's not set in stone. The multiversal war may be the collapse of existence, but if it's not indefinite, it is a chance they should be allowed to take. That's why Sylvie asked why they're not allowed to risk dying for a chance to live. Loki realized that HE is the 3rd option. Finally, understanding his purpose truly was burdened by his greatest fear, being alone. And that's why Mobius said, "Most purpose is more burden than glory. But you never want to be the guy who avoids it because you can't live with the burden." Loki accepts a lonely existence in order to fulfill his greater purpose, sacrificing his life in order for his friends and the multiverse to have theirs as he assumes his position on his throne at the end of time... Now that's a fuckin beautiful story arc.

Loki has been my comfort character since the original avengers days, seeing the amount of development in this episode brought to tears, the burden of glorious purpose, he got everything he used to want and nothing he learned to want😢 he just wanted his friends and to not be alone but he gave that up for them, he is and will forever be the GOAT❤

@@katieoshaughnessy8086read infinity abyss. He just took the place of a character called Atlez. Loki now is the custodian of the multiverse. Not the god of stories like everyone else is saying about him.

I mean it's not just loki not willing to kill sylvie and also loki doesn't trust kang to rule so he chose to sacrifice himself

You were right they could always make a way bigger loom, make it bigget and bigger and bigger, but no matter how big they tried to make it technology wise, it wouldn't be enough because its just a machine, and only managing the specific amounts it was told to, and unfortunately the machine cant manage infinity

I enjoyed watching your reactions to this show!! Loki, made have so many emotions. But, he was a prince raised in Asgard. In the end he was the hero.

sadly this most likely isnt just a season finale but a series finale with Loki taking the mantle of God of Stories as epaul525 describes so well.

yeah the story of loki seems to be fully told by now. and mr. hiddleston was on fallon describing the end of his 14 year journey with the character.

TY for your react. I enjoyed it ! In the first half he yelled at Sylvie, "I don't want a throne!" But to save her, he condemns himself to it. wow Burdened with Glorious Purpose indeed.
@cerberus0110 ай бұрын
He wasn't just saving Sylvie, he was saving everybody. If he actually killed Sylvie it would only a temporary solution and the loom and TVA still would be responsible for pruning. Inevitably it went back to Loki and Sylvie's conversation in pieland about death and destruction are easy, but sacrifices are difficult.

@@cerberus01 hmmm.. i think you didn't get what I was saying. Just pointing out the irony that she claimed he just wanted a throne, but he didn't, but that's what he got. :)

Your reaction is very good. I really enjoyed seeing you. Loki is growing very much. He's become the god and reserved about god. He's sacrificed his life for every life. Loki is best development character in MCU.

Loki gave up everything so his friends could live. He lost his friends, he lost everyone and he's alone. The mother of all redemption arcs.

What broke my heart was that back in Season one episode four, Loki is trapped in the time loop with Sif. Her insult to him was "You deserve to be alone and you always will be." Loki admits that his greatest fear is being alone. Yet in the end, he accepted this fate to save his friends. That is just so crushing. 😢

He ascended into god-level -- even higher than Thor, Odin, Zeus or what have you. Higher than the Eternals. He's the caretaker of all the timelines and universes. And all for Free Will. His glorious purpose/burden was basically becoming... God.

so many of these uk actors could make a killing doing audiobooks with their distinct, but calm voices. both tom as well his movie dad anthony hopkins could. i would definitely buy one recorded by the late alan rickman if there was such a thing.
