Loki Season 2 is finally here! Welcome to our first-time reaction to the first episode of season 2 of Loki. The God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) returns in one of the best episodes we've seen from Marvel.
Today we watch the first episode of the second season of Loki. And we have to say that this first episode was absolutely fantastic! We get thrown in right where we left off and the stakes feel higher than ever for Loki and Mobius.
We're also introduced to Ke Huy Quan's character Ouroboros or O.B. for short and he is such a perfect fit for this world. As soon as he showed up it feels like he's right at home.
He Who Remains left us a very ominous warning and it's starting to look like he was not bluffing! The TVA is in a critical state as the timelines continue to branch out. And the threat of Kang looms over all of them. The Multiverse Saga has just begun!
We get a glimpse of what Sylvie's (Sophia Di Martino) character has been up to and it seems like she's just trying to live a normal life but unfortunately it seems that won't last very long.
Brace yourselves for an immersive journey filled with time-twisting surprises, cosmic chaos, and the enigmatic allure of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Imagine if Loki is the one in the MCU that assembles the new avengers team to take on Kang. At this point he knows the most about him, i can see him using the TVAs resources to gather people he thinks can help. The contrast from him being the first avengers teams villain to forming an even bigger team himself would be crazy

It’s kinda cool that Loki is going through the same thing Tony Stark went through when he felt the space threat was still out there as well as how Banner was warning everybody that Thanos is coming. Loki understood the raw power He Who Remains had and is terrified of what thousands of him could mean. What an incredible arc for his character 😃

Oh that fits with my theory about why all the movies and series shows lack that MCU interconnection, that when the scared timeline (MCU) split into chaos, all our heroes and shows aren't on the main timeline anymore, Sam Wilson Cap America, isn't in the same universe as Wanda, or moonknight etc... so it'll take the tva resources to bring them together again. IMHO 🎉

I’m starting to wonder if Loki visiting the past TVA is what caused Kang to erase their memories, because you know they reported all this to him when he ran the place. It could also be the reason that drove him to want Loki to run the TVA in the end.

I dont think Loki is intangled in two different timelines. Hes on one timeline going back, present, and forward. We are dealing with time and i feel like time only.

These are the stakes that we want going forward until Secret Wars. This episode alone puts makes u fear Kang without even seeing him. One can only imagine the amount of power he has n he is just bent on war n conquest. Damn wat an epic episode. I demand a green light of season 3 already.😂 Great reaction guys

Exactly!! Yes, there were consequences in every movie since Endgame, but none of them felt this real/high stakes! The anticipation built around Kang is incredible and did such a fantastic job of setting up the rest of the season! We cannot wait for the rest! @@OfficialMediaKnights I really hope Majors is proven innocent so he gets back to work, koz the writing n quality of this episode alone shows that Feige n Co. have something in making Kang the big bad n center of this saga. Thats if they can stop deviating n telling stories that have no bearing at all to the main thread. the thing is that TVA exists outside the time we know so any change in the PAST doesnt produce a paradox or a different branch in the timeline rather the change in past directly affects the present and the coming future.

I love the first season and the second season is off to a great start. The actor who plays Ouroborus (probably spelled it wrong) had his first acting role in The Goonies. If you haven’t watched yet it’s really good. The character he plays is really great 😊

I'm surprised that you guys did not include a clip of when Loki heard the recording of He Who Remains talking to Rensselaer about the difference that she made in the war. That was a pretty shocking Revelation in episode 1. It's kind of cool that we got to see the rest of the conversation episode 4, though.

I think saying that there has been no consequences of He Who Remains' death is wrong. The events in What If S1, No Way Home, Multiverse of Madness and Quantumania happen because the Multiverse was unlocked. Before that maybe only the Sorcerors (Dr. Strange, Wong, Ancient One and villains like Dormammu) could access the Multiverse. The story in Loki Season 2 could even go such a way that the possible amount of damage by Kang is reduced as much as possible so that we don't see Kang like just dropping in on Moon Knight to kill him. So, yeah. There have been consequences. They have not been in-your-face ones, because literally nobody knows about TVA and Kang. Deadpool 3 is gonna be the big one according to rumors because TVA is showing up there Anyways, Banger season opener! Camera work has gone a different level for this one! Many feared the director change might hurt this season, but so far the response has been positive! And to explain what Loki needed to do to save himself. He was "Time Slipping" (being pulled backwards and forward in time, not space, and affecting reality too). Just Pruning would not help as that would just send him to Void (like in S1E5) but Pruning would free his "temporal aura" and the Extractor at Temporal Loom would pull that out of each "strand of time line" (Hence it being more painful than skin being peeled off). Screeners got first two (some got 4) and many are saying that ep2 is quite different than ep1 so manage the expectations, but it's been great everywhere I have seen. Excited for this reaction!

I understand where your coming from. Yes I guess you could say those were consequences but let’s be real. Marvel’s been playing safe with these shows. They rarely address anything that happens in them in the movies. Because obviously they don’t want to alienate those who have not watched the shows. But in doing so it begs the question how important really are these shows? Aside from the character interactions we have they pretty much feel like the comic books back in the day that were released on a weekly basis before a huge event happened. When back then in the early days of the MCU everything was an event. Was hoping that the shows would have a bigger impact. And the way we left off Loki season 1 gave off a certain vibe that things hit the fan quick! And we haven’t really felt that again until now with season 2 a couple of years later. The first episode of this season and it’s urgency is exactly what we needed. And yeah this will all lead to Deadpool which has to be one of the main meals of this phase. That one will definitely deliver. Can’t wait to see what the rest of this season brings us!

@@OfficialMediaKnights the build up is as important as the event. What good is Infinity War and Endgame without setting up of characters that happened in phases prior. We didn't just go from Avengers (2012, where Thanos is first shown) to Infinity War. The build up happened, people theorized what was gonna happen and then it happened. (Same for the comics too). And Phase 1-3 also had a lot of bad stuff: Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Cpt. America, Iron Man 3 (because of fake Shang Chi), Thor 2, Age of Ultron, complaints about Spider-Man: Homecoming and bad VFX in Black Panther, Ant Man never being taken seriously. I believe MCU's hands got tied by Disney which wanted a lot of shows (Phase 4) to make money, now that it has gone back down to normal amount of content the quality will return. And I think there's no way the shows are getting brushed aside. The big bad for this whole Saga was set up in a TV show. I was just giving that as an idea for a bad way for the Loki S2 to go. I get that many don't want to watch 40 movies and shows just to enjoy one movie who will through post credit scene tease some other thing that is coming in 5 years. But many do want to do that. It's a tight rope to walk for people working day and night on these projects and not even getting paid well for it. Even though I diligently watch MCU stuff now (only got into it and comics because of Covid), I don't love it but I appreciate the people who do love it and will always be against toxicity against these projects and people who create them. My love is book reading and enjoying shows like Dark or Mr. Robot (waiting for a reaction to that one from you both). I'm just an early 20s Indian from India. English isn't even my first language. MCU is pretty outside what I would say is my normal enjoyment thing, but for some reason I do enjoy it (maybe it's the pop culture craze). This got too long! Thank You if you read all that. If anyone didn't do that even then it's okay! Not much here. Just love and appreciation for this channel and a request for Mr. Robot 😅.

Yup! No hate towards the MCU we love it too! But we can’t deny that that many projects has diluted it a bit. Especially when they feel less important. Because there is so many projects they now have to move at a slower pace. I mean we got more projects in Phase 4 than the entirety of the MCU before that. Not saying they should rush it either but cmon we got to avengers in about 5 movies haha somewhere in the middle is a sweet spot! Thank you for your thoughtful reply man! @@OfficialMediaKnights Okay! Coming back to stuff that happened in this episode. - trailer for S2 showed Loki time slipping outside TVA. So, there's two possibilities. Either this idea didn't work or it did work but stuff happened that we'll see throughout the season. (It could also be deleted scenes). - At episode end, I don't believe the TVA agents are going after Sylvie. General Dox wanted the Pruning to keep happening so I think that's what so mamy reset charges were taken, to prune the branched time line. - this is a wild idea that came to me, on rewatching the episode, my gut started screaming that Judge Gamble (who orders stopping pruning) is actually an older Sylvie. This happened because she too said "I can do anything" (Like Sylvie does in post credit). There have been rumors about an older version of Sylvie playing part in this season. - Imo, the phone call at episode end might be just to draw Loki's attention to the elevator. You can also see someone coming behind Loki and pruning him.

23:52 Not just that, Nathaniel Richards is human! Loki and Sylvie heard his story in the season finale, so they know that he's from the Sacred Timeline too, like everyone else. I'm not sure if they know that he's human or not, but I guess Loki and Mobius do know since they saw him in the past when he was living the life of someone named Victor Timely or something similar. Nathaniel is a distant future relative of Reed Richards and a pretty intelligent man who likely had Reed's books and knowledge as well as the knowledge of Reed's descendants up to him. I don't know how the New Avengers will beat Kang, but Reed is likely going to be key. Still, I think Sylvie has to be the one to fix since she's the one that started, and I wouldn't be surprised if the way to fix it is to find the Kang that is destined to become He Who Remains and to put him back in power. Either that or Loki and Sylvie forever stay off the timeline living in the Citadel at the End of Time for eternity. What a great start to a new season. I hope they keep the same energy up from start to finish. 10/10 opening for me!

The production and music are great, and performances are fantastic. I just wish it wasn't a show supposedly about Loki, especially the 2012 evil Loki who's arc is that he watches a KZbin video and gains back the arc he perviously had in a cheap, quick and silly way. On top of that, they made him a complete wuss. He's supposed to have just ripped a man's eye out (which he didn't even need to do) and thoroughly enjoyed it... and then in no time flat, he is suddenly gone from an evil, cunning, ruthless villain to a chump who gets slapped, kneed in the balls repeatedly, and simps over a woman he barely knew while the fate of existence hangs in the balance. Not a fan. It's just a shame that so much hard work and talent went into everything except the writing and respect for one of the best legacy characters the MCU had going for it.
