I think you're right on the money. Phase 5 will definitely revolve around some big shit with Thor and Loki and the ends of the universe. The themes of Ragnarok, death and rebirth, Kang, perhaps Thor himself having to do with the end of things. The Loki show let Loki level up so that he can unleash his power in some big way.

In an alternate ending to Thor 4, Thor watches Jane die from cancer and realizes that he is now completely alone in the universe. He re-lives the death of his mother, father, best friend, brother, and now his love, Jane. He still feels remorse for not killing Thanos before he snapped his fingers. Mjolinir has even stopped working for Thor at this point. He begins to shed tears standing above a tall cliff asking why has he lost everybody and is it worth it for him to go on anymore. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath as "Twilight of the Gods" from Thor Ragnorak plays until...a slow and building version of the music at 4:30 starts to play and a TVA Timedoor opens behind him. Through the door steps Loki from the TVA and they both look at each other. After a few silent moments, Loki says, "Brother...I need your help". Then cue 4:46. At the end of Loki Season 2, we see a defeated Loki watching Thor lose Jane through the video files of the TVA. Sylvia asks him what else can they do. Loki opens a Timedoor and steps through it to a cliff and sees the back of Thor overlooking the cliff. Screen goes black and the worlds flash on the screen: Loki and Thor will return in Avengers: Kang Dynasty

Thor grabs mjolnir and stormbreaker, overcharging them with the power of the gods, he responds "because... that's what heroes do... and I am willing to die protecting the universe I love.. but one thing I know, I am taking you with me" Kang scoffs and laughs at him, charging up his weapons, glowing almost as bright as the lightning that flows through Thors veins, people know Thor cannot do this alone, and so does Thor, but... he is not alone, in the sky, among the debris of destroyed worlds, stars, realms and galaxies, even other universes, a portal opens, one of green, where a horned silhouette, holding a golden blade of flames, Thor cannot believe his eye, his brother is alive, he does not know how, or what he has done to make it here, but all he knows when staring into the eyes of his brother, is that for once in years, he is not alone, Loki, the God of Stories, leaps down and stands alongside his brother, smiling "surprised to see me, brother?" Thor responds "you mischievous snake, I've never been happier to see you" Loki smiles and stares at Kang, no longer scared of him, knowing deep down under all of that power and technology, he is nothing but a mortal, the thing he once strived to destroy, but now he lives to protect, all mortals but this one... this one, he will help his brother erase from time, even if it is the last thing he does, they charge into a mighty battle, the crowd erupts into screams of joy and excitement, a scene, that will live on as one of the greatest in mcu history.*
