AF is shit on S1H. if they would have used some decent phase detection based AF, I would've switched to Panasonic for video. I will wait for the a7S3 now, although I dont know what the heck Sony is waiting so long for, theres no way they can "exceed our expectations " now

The Japanese guy at Panasonic's press conference today very briefly mentioned that they were working with Atomos on RAW output. And I mean _very_ briefly. I suspect they're trying to avoid hyping it because they don't know if it will actually work out.

DPreview had a clip of the internal mic recording the fan noise while filming at 6K! Loud! Definitely use external mic with it.

its not full frame, and Panasonic is having dialogue with apple to get ProResRaw for S1H.. But I think color from Panasonic is more accurate and renders green tone better ... choice is yours tho. But I prefer to shoot on vlog codecs not compressed braw (which is codec too)

The BMPCCs are good (as long as they are working because about a fourth are DOA ) but they are all but versatile given the excessively wide form factor, they need to be heavily rigged out making them even less versatile, and you get locked into the BM ecosystem with Resolve. Many if not most people prefer an AIO, and on the more professional end: a brain box, and happily pay extra for that. There is no way I'd get an S1H, but I would prefer it over two BMPCCs anytime.

But the video AF is still too poor to use, plus in quiet areas (according to dpreview) the fan makes the internal mics useless, and so much rolling shutter in full frame... Also "Em Em" is "Millimetres"... Plus they should have hired an Italian design expert to make the body look good and have good ergonomics, as Nikon did... rather than a Lego expert (blockiness, anyone...). Oh and finally.... 1160g - Nikon Z6 (same sensor) is 675g...
