I remember seeing this very episode the day it came on an never forgot it. At that time I was blown away to actually see Bambattaa on TV (A cable network kids show). He was explained things scratching and other DJ tricks. I was somewhere around age 13 at the time. That was one of those rare occasions when could get a glimpse of hip hop on TV.

Just to clarify for all the newbies. Kool Keith was mainly Locking when he first danced. He was mainly popping after that. He did no break dancing(dancing on the ground). Locking,Popping and Breaking are all separate dance styles.

Lmfao @ Keith's 80's Jimmy Neutron outfit!! Sad thing is that the music being played here is WAYYYY better than anything out there right now on the radio. YoOOo, i miss seeing a DJ going wild scratching & cats breaking wrecklessly! Timeless..

It was from a show called Livewire, back in the day. The white dude is named Fred who could actually beat box , kind of, and the co-host was a sista named Moeva. I don't know if that's how you spell it. Anyway, good post. I think that Whodini and some other hip hop acts went to Canada or something on a tour, cause all the sudden they were playing hip hop shit on Nickeloyouknowtherest. Im not trying to kick facts that's just what I remember, I was jamming to Battle Cry on the Beat Street soundtrack at this time

This is the same episode with AD ROC from the beastie boys asked afrika bambaataa a crazy question. Bam looked at him like don't let me come back there and kick your.... LOL LOL. I saw this when it was first shown on NICK, I just dated myself. Props to anybody that can find the whole episode.

There's another segment from this episode on KZbin where he discusses how scratching and DJ'ing works with Afrika and Jazzy. He is indeed quite goofy and unsure what to make of it all.
