It becomes a stupid critiscism because saying that a gacha game lacks content is tantamount to saying that there are no other elements to the game. I highly doubt that this guy has 100% everything in the game by reading all lore books and finding all the references within the game as well as probably secret missions within the game. @@ЕвгенияОнежская I defeated Phantylia on the first attempt using Preservation MC, Jing Yuan without his LC, 4-star Dan Heng, and Luocha. But based on how the fight went I could’ve done it with Natasha instead if I needed to. You should be able to handle Phantylia by leveling your whole team to at least 70, and getting some solid levels on their relics. It’s definitely doable with whatever you have on hand, provided you use characters with the right elements (I’ve forgotten what those are but it probably matches the team i used to some extent). Preservation MC built for pure defense is a must if you don’t have Gepard, as if you can’t shield the whole team you’ll need Phantylia to focus on him and waste her attacks. Also I think you get a trial Jing Yuan for the boss fight, keep him on the other end of the team from MC as he needs to stay alive.

People are rushing way more than they think they are. There was this huge "I gotta get to blah blah blah" point that so many people were on in that first week. I didn't rush, I took my time, and it took me WAY longer than a week to get to TB50+. Like, a lot closer to a month, or more. I'm not shocked people were "dissapointed" with the amount of content because they could have dumped a bunch more content and people would still be this way. I think folks who rolled on Seele also sped through more of the content than those of us who sat on our resources for at least one banner, since we had to grind just a little more to get to the end of the game. I really can't buy that all those people who were "done in a week" did all the repeatable puzzles, found all the little side quests, and did all the other content that you can do in this game. FH, SI, and the main story do not constitute "All the content in the game".

Genshin is kind of fun if you follow from the beginning but starting now where there's tons of things to do it's simply too much. There's also a chance you can't follow latest event because the characters might be locked to certain quests, which is stupid btw, and the story is not even worth investing your time over.

Although HI3rd, Genshin, and HSR do have some similiarities, but in terms of combat and exploration, all of them differs. HI3 do have an open-world mode, while Genshin IS the main genre. This leaves HSR as a semi-open world game, since there's still something to explore (even hidden quests/achievements), but not as much as Genshin. And combat-wise, HI3 offers hack n' slash, while Genshin is more like how you utilize your team-comp for a proper damage output (especially from elemental reactions), and HSR is turn-based combat.

It took me around 1 month to finish the main story even though I was actually trying to rush things in order to catch up. If you somehow finished all of the main story in 1 week, start actually reading the dialogue. The lore can be entertaining and it takes much longer to complete everything if you read it.

I have a part time job, and a toddler, I played this game for an hour to 2 hours every other day and I still felt like I ran out of content very quickly. And the events aren't as enjoyable to me. If I go a few days without playing star rail, or even a week, I don't feel like I missed out on anything. This coming from someone who also currently has nothing to do in Genshin besides treasure hunt, and farm for characters that I may or may not have.

The only thing that feels gated is the Energy cap. Especially with the importance of Relics, barely being able to farm half a set within a day feels terrible. Genshin has its own issues, but their Resin costs are a lot more reasonable to the point where it's quite easy to cap out on Artifacts.
@jikannomajo Жыл бұрын
I'm also thinking about this but can't seem to point out the problem. Like, why does it feel like everything costs stamina? I guess it's the additional materials needed for the traces. But I just feel like its the same average experience in Genshin during the first 3 months of playing. The hurdle of "I dont have enough stamina for everything"
@nighthaste4311 Жыл бұрын
Good thing about the wait is the daily missions to get more stuff to pull for your favorite characters, I actually skip Silver Wolf and the guy before her because I don't have resources to pull for them after what I did with Seele, so I'm really glad that Mihoyo isn't rushing the game so that I can save to pull for a character that is interesting for me, also I know that the devs are also working on Honkai Impact and Genshin Impact and that they actually got a lot of work to do
@mxnchoild9 ай бұрын
What’s really interesting is that for me, I took a break from HSR because I felt there was *too much* content. I didn’t like being forced to finish important quests to access an event, so I went “fuck it” and dipped. The main thing that keeps my interest atp are the pretty men. But like, why rush content for the sake of completion? I never understand those people who play without taking the time to enjoy the game. It’s a very slow-paced game too, so there really is no point.
@kennethyoung74579 ай бұрын
The game kinda make you wanna rush the content especially if you are new player because you are missing out on premium currency every week. If you want the character and lightcones on the current banner you are going to be doing that permanent content quick so you can get them before they go away for months. You can chill once you have played for awhile and have a good amount of maxed out characters to clear content with.

this is why it’s better to take the time to enjoy the game and not rush it because you’ll regret it within’ the first week and the only person you can blame is yourself and NOT the developers it isn’t their job to predict how fast you’ll finish their game and of course they will come out with lots of new stuff it’s only the early stages of the game and there’s of course so much more to come just like in genshin

> Devs bake time-gated, resource-dependent progression systems into their games that scale to player level, literally incentivizing players to rush through content > "Don't blame the devs it's not their job to balance player progression" 🤡 I agree that rushing through the content is generally a bad idea but let's not pretend that Hoyoverse's game progression systems aren't diametrically opposed to their development cycle, or that they're blameless for designing such progression systems. It's largely a problem of their own making.

@@warehouse3304 Thank you for your engaging and insightful counter-argument. /s First off, I said that I agree that rushing through games is generally a bad idea, but that doesn't absolve developers of their ability/responsibility to guide player progression through internal systems. Secondly, I'm AR60 on Genshin and TL58 on Star Rail so I understand plenty well how these games work. The resin/energy reward systems scale to world level, which means that you objectively get the most value out of your resin/energy at higher world levels. Resin/energy being time gated further incentivizes players to squeeze the most value out of whatever resin/energy they have available. As it stands, Hoyoverse has tied a reward system that benefits from rushing content directly to content that shouldn't be rushed through. It's objectively poor design. If they decoupled resin/energy scaling from world level, decoupled world level from AR/TL, and/or decoupled quest/exploration progression from AR/TL, then they wouldn't have this conflict in progression systems. These are overly simplistic solutions of course, there would need to be some core redesigns for a proper fix, but my point is that it's not some nebulous problem that can't be identified and solved - The problem is fairly obvious and there's a million other ways to build progression systems that are more condusive to the intended player experience. The notion that the devs are somehow blameless in predicting and influencing player progression is absurd.

Bro, you can upgrade your character as much as you can while you waiting for the next version release (like upgrade traces, lightcone, Chara level, relic) Don't just upgrade your main character, because sometimes you need more than 4 characters to play in certain events. You can also finish all the daily quest every day for the stellar jade that you can save it for the next limited character update.
