To add to what others are already saying, yes, this is me. Yes, i stream some of my games on Twitch. The video got a lot of things right, but let me add some context: -That example of me roaming cross the map from Top to Bot pre-lvl-6 was an outlier and not something i generally recommend, even if the points about scaling is true. I think i did it that specific game because a combination of 1) team was losing early 2) I had a bigger than normal crash while being healthy 3) I didn't see my Ally champs coming back from a deficit or staying safe until i could R. Anyway, it's generally better to play for yourself and take necessarily resets for Ruby crystals in the downtime, especially if you don't have TP early. -For when I'm Mid lane I'd say the 'being a second jungler early on' is accurate, but for toplane my ultimate goal in early lane if I'm winning early (preferably with a solokill already) and got myself a good crash into reset is actually not to roam pre-6, but to create a freeze and zone enemy top from XP. Not necessarily to get myself ahead for later, but to make it into a 5v4 with enemy top 3 lvls behind the curve. Ofc I'm not looking to freeze forever since I eventually need to play for team (duh), but lvls 4-7 is primetime for this, and if you got a perfect freeze it can be more worth for the game to keep the enemy on 0 XP than to save botlane. Then you'd let someone die in bot while prioritsing R's mid and top jgl (unless your bot has Shutdown) -The point about staying around for a 2nd play after already having R'd bot for example, before heading back top is very very true, and the reason for that is that you usually already commited to losing some plates/waves top, and while it stings to lose another by staying a bit, the difference isn't actually as big as the initial decision whether to R or not. If you got the chance to stick around with your jungler or ad/supp and dive the enemy ADC when they come back into lane after the 1st death on a dive (or catch them between towers) it's gonna completely warp the game. And even if it doesn't kill them, just chunking them and zoning them off for an extra wave of gold/xp (while you're losing the same top) is super worth it. -As for Redemption use, you mentioned a lot of the small upsides like Vision and Using while dead, but the MAIN reason Redemption is so good on Shen is that Shen makes up for redemptions biggest weakness, namely that the ally might die so the heal doesn't have time to come in or they might flash/dash out of it. By always knowing you still got a huge shield, you can wait until very late (unless the enemy has obscene amounts of dmg available) in the fight where your carry has already flashed/dashed and enemy is truly commited before using Redemption, knowing your R will keep them alive for the heal to come in. Closing comment about support items/heal in general: The main ways I think about Shen is in terms of his strengths/weaknesses. Strengths: lvl 1-5 laning (using dragthrough Q's) and making any fight into a man advantage and winning it before enemy all joins. Shen's weakness lies in his scaling with gold (since he lacks AD scaling and doesn't have a kit like Ornn or Sion to frontline as a tank even with the same items), and his waveclear. This means he's fundamentally a weak splitpusher, even with his R in mind, since he can't push up waves if an enemy is there to match you, and you often won't be able to kill them at 2+ items even from ahead. So if that's the case, why not play lane well and build your individual lead as much as possible early on, but then switch buildpath (from bami, which is lane focused) into supportive items so you transition to the most useful role just as your champ would normally slowly start falling off. These items both synergize with what you're trying to do AND have a base value that's not linked to your terrible scaling. Quick correction: In the build-section, I saw Unending despair listed, and i never build that item, since it falls in the category of items that gets stronger the longer you're in a fight. I think items that give instavalue the first couple seconds of the fight makes a lot more sense, since Shen is all about making the fight into a 3v2, 4v3, 5v4 and winning before the last enemy joins, so the first couple seconds are key (items like: Redemp, Locket, Vow, Randuin, Moonstone (not 100% sure about this one but seems to work), Kaenic). "So Shending, is it troll to build more aggro? I get bored of supporting" -Rushing titanic from ahead still makes sense, because then you'll have 5-10 minutes of being rly strong with amazing waveclear to impact the game before enemies start scaling properly, but the longer the game goes, the worse carry items are gonna work for you, so at some point it's simply optimal to start building stuff like Randuin's (or redemp :p ). And don't go the Titanic route unless you're already ahead, because if not then you won't have that long window to carry with it before the other champs catch up and pass you scalingwise.

Finally Shending Help is getting the recoginition he deserves. His methodological approach and commitment to RedempShen for multiple years has lead to the pristine gameplay Dobby highlights in this video. I would say Shending's biggest strength is the ability to always play towards his team's win condition, which is very rare compared to most Challengers who focus on playing to their personal win condition. Some of this is a result of our champion, but Shending takes it to another level.

Really cool the way this guy uses Shen and how quickly his spikes are due to the build Ps. Notice that when going mid vs a mage is better to go HOB since u'll obv not get much grasp value. I came across a Shen player doing this in my D1/Master game. It was actually insane how much the shield was when he ult'd mid to late game. You could do it on an adc and they would survive a full burst combo.

That's just basic Shen things though 🤔. Level 16 R is huge unless you're playing full AD. Full tank shield is huge and full AP shield would allow to survive a whole teamfight if it could stay even after Shen TPs 😂.

To be fair the value from ultimate hunter stacks from a good ultimate and value from your team winning a fight in super high elo's is more worth it than in lower elos. That's the problem with shen, depending on your rank you actively need to change your decision making so I'd only play shen if you like playing him/the character.

You need to clarify if this is a rank 1 100 game win streak flex 5 stack cheeser playing into a bunch of solos who never plays without their 4 friends to cheese with. So many "rank 1" players are like plat in solo/duo. And are only "rank 1" because they abuse and cheese the hell out of Ranked flex with a 5 stack of friends and almost always go against at best trios but usually. Unironically a HUGE chunk of "rank 1" players will have 100+ game win streaks and will NEVER play without a 5 stack of friends(Usually the same 4 friends each time) If you look at their game history they are NEVER without their 5 stack and the enemy is almost ALWAYS a bunch of solo's. Clarifying this would be greatly appreciated.
