2019 MSI will always be my favorite League Tournament ever. Was so fun to watch, and I remember staying up until 4:00 AM or so to watch TL play IG, completely expecting them to get wiped. I was so hyped when they won that series, might be my favorite Bo5 ever too.

I remember thinking TL definitely had a chance against IG because the group stage games were very close, but i thought classic NA is going to choke and get 3-0. Little did i know, an NA team actually beat the world champion, the same team that beat SKT in 16 minutes. I remember shaking uncontrollably watching the series hoping they don't make a misplay and throw everything away, and how happy i felt when Doublelift had a chance to contest an international title. Unluckily the peak of NA just had to meet the peak of EU.

I agree with what DL was saying at the end, a memorable team, coz I was also a fan of TSM back then with Hauntz, Sven, Bjerg, DL, BioDaddy. Thinking of other teams like them, it's still fresh from my memory how ROX were like just having a good time back then with Smeb, Peanut, Kuro, Prey and Gori. SKT team of 1st and 2nd/3rd champ (also with the legendary sub, Easyhoon). The super team that was created just to counter SKT but failed, which is KT with Smeb, Score, Pawn, Deft and Mata. I have many more teams in mind but too lazy to mention all lol but yeah, good times.

I like that he mentioned the ROX Tigers. Hands down one of my favorite teams of all time. I literally shed a tear watching them win LCK Summer that year. Even watching them play the World Semifinals in 2016 vs SKT I couldn’t help thinking to myself, “As much of a SKT fanboy as I am, if there was any team I’d be ok with them losing to it would be them.” As great as it felt to see SKT win I couldn’t help but feel bad for the Tigers. Anyone who hasn’t seen them play that game 5 vs. KT I highly recommend you go back and watch the vod. Maybe not as crazy now but watching it live was something else. Oh it was also the last time we got to hear Monte, Doa, and Papasmithy on the shoutcast.

7:00 Doublelift's humility and accountability are always such a breath of fresh air. Most players would hem and haw here - it was cheese, my support was sick, top lane fed, jungle diff, 1v1 me after, whatever. He actually had the courage to say "we all played our best, and they were just better than us". It's especially surprising in someone who is always so confident in his own ability to win any lane and carry any game.

He's secure and confident enough in himself and his own abilities to be able to say "they are just better" - or in times like 2019 MSI be able to look across at a world championship winning roster and recognize him and Core were just as good or better at that time.

I feel like 2016 TSM was golden, they actually had a chance to compete in worlds and looked the best in a strong group. 2017 the team overall was really good but they had one of the easiest groups and failed to qualify and DL absolutely played horrible.

Doublelifts incremental sidesteps in between abilities when he is comboing his abilities together at 15:03 is the most impressive adc play i've ever seen. If he didn't sidestep between each ability the way he did meteos tags him with the unburrow.

I started playing back in 2010, i started grinding rank seriously around 2012 and i watched alot of popular streams and pro plays and always thought i play like these players and i knew i could get to the highest rating. And then i saw doublelift highlights and was impressed by someone for the first time like seeing someone do stuff i know i couldnt do at the time. From then on doublelift has been my guy, the first player i saw who i knew was at the time the best player in NA arguebly the world at a certain point.

I know that its not that mechanically impressive if you see it now, but it wouldve been interesting to see Doublelift’s Graves moonwalk movement in CLG vs Startale to be mentioned in the video. In KR, that play is pretty much what created so many ADC players in the region+is still remembered as one of the signature plays that represents DL’s career. Also the KR commentary brings the legendary “Doubleliftuuuu” in the video so I advice checking it out

Bio + Bjerg + Double were just so fun to watch, plus TSM Legends expanded on the players unlike every other team, we finally had a deeper understanding of the players. I really hope more teams do stuff like TSM Legends did with their players.

The sad thing was while they were on top they never realize how others played even just watching or reviewing other team’s past games or best players could make a difference from playing bad to great I’m sure if it was in your shoes it be a big shoes to fill a lot of expectations and pressure.

I like the metric of "what if you swapped in another good player to make this play?" for good plays. But I think there are still a few who would have made that Lucian play work just as well, mainly Uzi. Which takes absolutely nothing away from it: 99% of all adcs from official leagues would probably have failed to make that play.

I loved CLG because they were the only team ever all the way until G2, who were always able to think about the game outside the box. Sadly they kept getting defeated by the most braindead "group as 5 and teamfight" teams like Dignitas and TSM, but you just knew that they had it in them to win. Then finally after years they actually won NA 3-0 against TSM in finals, immediately also did well internationally, so of course the management had to immediately destroy the roster...
