FLY-TL and G2-BLG is crazy. One NA team will qualify by having beaten two minor teams and the other NA team, while G2 has faced HLE, T1 and BLG. If they somehow get out of this it's a miracle

Picking red side is basically picking yourself into a disadvantage. Not sure if it's disrespect, over confidence, idiocy, or a mixture and/or combination. Up until that game, there have been 17 red side wins out of 41 games in the main stage. It doesn't seem so bad when it's almost half, that is, until you realise most of the red side winners are vastly superior over their opponents, DK vs FNC, LNG vs TL, TL vs PNG, etc. There's an obvious blue side advantage on many levels, and it's been the same situation for many years now. You don't need statistics to make this side selection decision. Ayumu could do better, and he's a chimpanzee.

Fnatic picked red side and last picked swain into ahri, Ezreal, and Rakan. Not to mention Gnar and Skarner, absolute best case scenario is you kill one of them as they peel Swain away. riot is na-based,so they want at least 1 local team at worlds.that's why g2 had to play against all the strong teams (lck and lpl first seeds,world champions and world finalists) while tl only got minor regions after getting stomped

Fun fact: If the Worlds format was played with 8 professional teams and 8 teams comprised of literal monkeys from a zoo, on average one of the teams with monkeys would escape Swiss and make top 8.

So just compare G2s way to 2-2 with TL or even BLG and I think everyone after this will see an issue. BUT this is the "beauty" of swiss stage that unexpected teams get through. However: G2 on paper is the best performing team of the 2-2 teams. Watching every game of worlds, they do the least sloppy mistakes, have good macro, can match the best teams until late games of 40+ min games, so there is definitely a world where they beat BLG. COME ON G2! MAKE IT HAPPEN! WE BELIEVE IN YOU! JUST GIVE US A GREAT FIGHT INTO QUARTERS!

This draw is ridiculous, NA fans shouldn’t be proud of the team going to quarterfinals in such a dishonorable way. There is definitely human intervention going on here. Although I‘m not EU fan, but I have to say EU > NA. At least G2 beated lpl team, while NA got their victories from non lpl lck teams. I’m glad that LCS is removed in the following year though. Good riddance.
