You cannot find a better underdog story than DRX's journey this year. They were eliminated first round in LCK summer playoffs, and after 2 full bo5 in qualifier, they barely made it in to worlds. No one expected them to do well, and even most of their fans think it would already be difficult to make it out of groups. For many, the team was full of weaknesses: "Pyosik, kingen, and zeka were average in LCK, deft was too old, and beryl troll picks coinflips every game". Coming in world, DRX defied everyone's expectation. From getting out of play-ins and groups first, to beating formal world champion EDG, LCK summer champion GENG, and the greatest league team of all time and winning favorite T1. They were the underdog, and luck was never on their side: nexus was 1 hit away and yet inhibitors respawned, baron was stolen countless times, some even without vision, it was as if fate deemed them to lose. With barely anyone cheering for them in the beginning, they play the way they want and with confidence. Against fate, they prevailed. Slowly, more and more are touched by their journey, and it was genuinely awesome when you can hear people chanting "DRX, DRX, DRX" Every individual contributed to the journey in their own ways: kingen glowups, zeka's lane dominance and roaming, pyosik's strong pathing and ganking, deft's consistency despite old age, and beryl's playmaking and champion pool. They truly deserve this champion, and this is the greatest worlds run ever.

After Worlds 2023, this feels now perfectly scrypted somehow. Love the fact that DRX won instead of T1. A tale to tell and a wonderful story behind. Deft very well deserved this. T1 won Worlds 2023 after beating 4 top LPL teams. As someone who has been playing and watching LoL for more than 10 years, I'm confident to hype for T1 winning Worlds 2024.

@@hoaang9455 Predicting the outcome of a League of Legends World Championship is a challenging task, as it depends on various factors such as the teams' form, the meta, and individual player performances. However, based on the current information available, here are some factors that could influence T1's chances of winning Worlds 2025 and defending their championship: Strengths: Experience: T1 has a wealth of experience, with players like Faker, Bengi, and Mata having won multiple World Championships. This experience could be crucial in high-pressure situations during the tournament. Strong roster: T1 has a well-rounded roster with talented players in all positions. This allows them to adapt to different metas and playstyles. Strong coaching staff: T1 has a highly regarded coaching staff led by Kim "kkOma" Jung-gyun, who has won multiple World Championships as a player and coach. Weaknesses: Competition: The competition at the World Championship is always fierce, and there are many other strong teams that could challenge T1 for the title. Meta changes: The meta can change rapidly in League of Legends, and T1 will need to adapt quickly if they want to stay ahead of the competition. Pressure: T1 will be under a lot of pressure to defend their championship, and this could affect their performance. Overall, T1 has a good chance of winning Worlds 2025 and becoming the first team to defend their championship twice. However, there are many factors that could influence the outcome of the tournament, and it is impossible to say for certain whether they will be successful. Here are some additional factors that could affect T1's chances: The health of their players: If any of T1's key players get sick or injured, it could significantly impact their chances of winning. The performance of other teams: Teams like Gen.G, Royal Never Give Up, and EDward Gaming are all capable of winning Worlds, and T1 will need to perform at their best to beat them. The draw: The draw for the World Championship can have a big impact on a team's chances of winning. If T1 gets a favorable draw, they will have a better chance of making it to the later stages of the tournament. Ultimately, the only way to know for sure whether T1 will win Worlds 2025 is to wait and see how they perform at the tournament.

Things that happened since Faker last won a world championship : - 2016 : SKT wins 3-2 by stopping a reverse sweep attempt. - 2017 : Amibition, midlaner turned jungler, clean sweeps the SKT dynasty, taking revenge for their narrow loss in 2016. This win would cement Ambition, Ruler and Corejj as LCK legends. - 2018 : IG brings the LPL their first championship, with Rookie beating the his former team on the way (KT, with Deft). This was EU's 2nd ever finals appearance. This specific event would see the rise of prodigies like Theshy, Jackeylove, Caps and Perkz. The LPL would claim all international trophies this year. Notable matchup : IG vs KT semifinals - 2019 : FPX, another LPL team, sweeps G2 and completely stops their golden year (winning all calendar trophies). Spearheaded by the eccentric Doinb who fell in love with China and hopped mediocre team after mediocre team, this would be the LPL's second championship. This year was the rise of prodigies like Chovy, Showmaker, Canyon, Nuguri, Viper and Lehends. Notable matchups : IG vs FPX semifinals and G2 vs SKT semifinals. - 2020 : The return of the LCK. After falling short in 2019 and again in 2020 MSC (mid-season cup), Damwon came back a whole new beast and simply put, demolished the scene. Despite a valiant effort by Suning who were 3rd seed, the matchup was simply too lopsided. This would also be G2s (and EU)'s last ever hurrah before falling back to irrelevance. This season saw the rise of new impressive talent like Kanavi, Yagao, Zoom, 369, Knight, Keria, Angel and Sofm. Notable matchups : Damwon vs G2 semifinals and Suning vs LGD quarterfinals. - 2021 : Looking to further cement themselves as a true dynasty comparable to T1 (SKT), Damwon would fall short by two games to complete their golden road, failing to beat RNG in the MSI finals, and failing to beat EDG in the world finals. Scout and Viper would finally be crowned kings of the world, the latter after many hardships after leaving Griffin (with notable teammates like Lehends, Chovy and Tarzan). This event also saw the return of Faker alongside four new rookies, and despite a rocky season, they would almost make the finals. An LPL team had beaten the LCK team in the world finals for the first time in history ! New stars : GALA, Wei, Oner, Gumayusi. Notable matchups : Damwon vs SKT semifinals and EDG vs RNG semifinals - 2022 : Back with rejuvenated vigor, SKT would add the raw gem in the toplane known as Zeus. They would dominate the spring season against the star studded Gen.G who was, for all intents and purposes, looking to be the "team of destiny". Facing hurdles, Faker would fall against the kings of Spring, RNG. On the other side, DRX, lead by Deft and former world champion Beryl, would struggle and never be taken into consideration, as the spotlight was on Faker and Chovy. Following the successful 2021 season for the LPL, it would only be logical to consider JDG the eventual world champion, but they would fall short to SKT, who themselves got swept by Gen.G in summer. But in the shadows, through the qualifiers, through the MSI champions, through groups, through the defending world champions, through the LCK champions, a dragon roared over the world, no hardships would stop it. This would be Deft's triumph, over long-time rival Faker, the unkillable demon king. Following Kingen's Aatrox, DRX would bring home the world championship, capping one if not the best underdog story in League of Legends history. Beryl, quietly reaching the finals three years in a row and winning two of them, would return to his gacha entertainment. New stars : Kingen, Zeka, Zeus, Breathe. What an amazing 6 years it was for esports history. See you next year !

To begin with GG WP for DRX, really well played by them. I actually thought that they would not comeback after game 3 but they still did it. To be honest I dont think Deft did anything special this hole series, he was omega gapped by Guma in lane and always behind in CS. The same is for Pyosik, that guy legit almost inted the hole finals several times, and it feels kinds troll seeing him winning finals after losing smite many times in crucial fights. This hole game was all about Mid/top and draft. And man Zeus and Faker got really gapped, faker was almost invisible which was really disappointing especially after his performance in quarters and semis. T1s biggest fault was not respecting Kingen and not banning his Aatrox. Kingen could really carry game 3 if his team didnt troll him by giving him a tank instead a carry champ especially after carrying the game with camille.

With Pyosik in my team in soloq i would call "well guys. We don't do objectives anymore" because of trust issues. But in the end they won. I feel like Deft did well on the first Kalista game and on Varus. But it seems like Varus is just too strong overall this worlds to compete with him

Man !!! I thought this never going to happen!! I said there's no Santa Claus. I expected T1 to win 3-0 or 3-1. But, i guess the anime plot armor is just too strong for this series. DRX are just in so much momentum. This is the best Worlds we've ever had. The plot of Worlds 2022 is just to perfect. So many heart breaking moments and happy moments. DRX run was just straight out of a comic book and plot ohhh the plot !! From the bottom to the top and at the top is greatest org. Of the league lead by greatest player of all time. At the game, after all those objective steals by T1, DRX remain calm they always somehow find a way to win. I am so so so happy !!!! For Deft to finally get a championship and i am so so so sad that T1 lose. Truly a bitter sweet ending. Worlds 2022!!! The best championship we've ever had.
