I must add Once Upon a time in the West ... with The Good, the bad & the Ugly - cause these westerns sealed it for me cause growing up during the 60's - I NEVER WATCHED ANOTHER JOHN WAYNE western movie again, ... oh wait ... another western from the 50's I'll include with these other two is Vera Cruz with Gary Cooper & Burt Lancaster the first western I saw that the cowboys were dirty, unshaven and vicious ....

Just pulled at my heart strings. My dad took the family to see the drive-in triple feature of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, A Fist Full of Dollars and For a Few More Dollars. We had made a huge bag of popcorn, brought Shasta soda and some kind of candies. Windows fogging up from so many breaths. But what a memory from back in 1970. I'll never forget it was one of the best times he had. Thanks for sharing

That was awesome! That movie is a masterpiece and one of my favorites. The whole dollars trilogy were a turning point for westerns in general. A lot more violent than anything John Wayne and other actors/directors were doing at the time and to me, really depicted the grittiness of that period. I would love to go there.

A film is truly beloved when we speak of visiting Sad Hill as a pilgrimage. I was going to say in 100 years the faithful will still be making the pilgrimage here.. then i read the comments and realized that i was but one of millions of this religious order of the Cemetery of Hill.

It’s said that Clint hated making the movie, he said there was no discipline on set after shooting he took the poncho home every night after filming as he said it would have disappeared if he had not, Clint is in his nineties, and I have to say to him that I think I have seen everyone of his films and I do not know if it was because of the stellar cast of Clint, Lee van cleef or the superb Eli wallach, combined with the music, but this film is right up there as one of the greatest westerns ever made and it never ages it seems to get better, the remastered Blu-ray added extra footage that had been cut, and they had Eli, and Clint add their voices and a voice actor was used to do lee van clefs bits as the footage was filmed but had no sound and it was added later for the Blu-ray, though you can hear Clint’s voice is that of an old man and not the younger man he was same as Eli Wallace’s voice, they could have had a voice actor but chose to use the real men, I watched this film Xmas 1976 it was on bbc my first ever Clint western ,mum and dad were out for the night I was 14 and babysitting and got to stay up late to watch it, I remember raiding the fridge for turkey of all things and watched the film, the scene of the attack before the bridge blows was one of my favourite scenes and I can not think of a film that grabs my attention more than this one, when ever it is on I end up watching, there’s always a part I don’t think I’ve seen before. And it is still such a fresh film to me, I never get bored of it, I’m hoping to get this on 4K when it’s cheaper also got unforgiven with Clint in it another great film, thankyou so much for your time and effort a great up,old it was very well made and I would love to run thru that cemetery, all the best to you from Norman in 🏴
