Thumbs up! Thanks a bunch for this EXCELLENT series for beginners! I have been playing 'career mode' in Fifa for years and (like many others) finding it a bit lacking. I GLANCED at Football Manager a couple of times but, as you point out, it seemed REALLY intimidating and complicated... I have to say that having a great KZbin tutorial like yours made ALL the difference, and allowed me to make my first steps into the FM world! -- Getting the hang of it pretty well and having a blast, so kudos and keep up the awesome work!

I'm not huge on football (though I'm Italian and it's pretty big here, kind of impossible to not know anything about it lol), yet I am very much into videogames and from a game-mechanics point of view this looks like a Grand-Strategy Autobattler, which is a VERY interesting concept. I'm seriously considering buying it because I do need my next big game and I've got nothing right now. Thanks for this video it was very useful, I'll get right on to the next one 😃

Great video, hope to see the next ones. I'd like to see what areas you recommend to master first to new players, even those that aren't too much into real football. I'd guess first would be tactics, building a team around the tactic, transfers, etc. One question: do you have a prefered tactic you build teams around or do you go with the tactic that suits the players you have at the beginning? Should we always try to choose between 2 or 3 META tactics or are there many valid options to choose from (maybe except parking the bus XD)?

Another question when setting up the player database you've obviously gone for a large data base with 30k players what does that mean for a save that's gonna stretch over a long period of time? Is there just as many wonder kids? Am I missing out on big players? Or is the performance better than the database size

The injuries in FM24 are very frequent, I’ve had 3/4 GK’s injured 8 games in the season… just started a new career😂

Update: I bought the game and downloaded through Steam (I'm in USA). Saw the option to buy the Editor Tool (I didn't) but no other updates were listed such as team logos and player images. I'm using a PC for this game. Haven't played it yet, wanted to re-watch this video. :)

Can someone explain why I would or wouldn't want more or less leagues added? Whenever I play I can see other leagues (tables, top scorers etc.) what's the damage in removing them and can I change after a season?

The more leagues you have loaded the longer it takes to simulate. That’s probably the only negative for loading more leagues.

@@lollujo it would be interesting to see the differences, I am on a long-term save from FM23, it was a 10-year plan but I only reached midway through year 6 and then moved it when the Beta was released. I went to add Japan as a league but couldn't so I would love to know what other differences there are, I don't plan on starting a new FM24 save till I finish this.

IF you REALLY want realism, you should load every Nation in Europe, BUT change the Nations you dont think you will manage to View-Only. And for the Nations you want to manage, set them to Nation Playable. For example if you want to manage a team in England, you could also have the Scottish; Irish and the Wales nations Playable. IF you dont load a Nation, their teams wont have full squad, no staff, no visible leagues etc. Thats why you beat a team in Champions league/Europa league with 10-0 and have a harder time with the Premier league. Thats not so realistic is it? If you have a faster computer, you can also load every player playing in Europe and that will get you around 280 000 players. Even if you get a half star as loading, its fast enough. No need to have 4-5 stars as loading speed. Now thats realism.
