It's been a while since I've made journals, but I'm hoping to work out a schedule so I can get back to it. I never made paperclip art, but I've admired it. Now, I know where to come for inspiration! And YAY for an alternative to E6000!!!!! My friend used it a lot for a while and I read the warnings to her, but she didn't know what else would work. Thank you so so much for that information!

Thanks for all the updated details,Lolly! I’ve purchased the micro mini paper clips from Lolly’s shop-they are adorable! You could tie a small ribbon on to alter/decorate them…or a tiny dangle. I also purchased the blanks from her-another great find! 🎉🤗 Thanks, too, for all the details about the glues. I totally agree with you about hot glue…it doesn’t last, and I’m forever burning myself. But, I really can’t tolerate the smell of strong glues…gives me a headache, and my craft room isn’t in a well ventilated area. What nontoxic glue would you suggest, if you couldn’t use Power Tac? I’ve tried using Glossy Accents and Ranger Multi Medium Matte and my altered clips haven’t fallen apart yet. But, I’m not mailing them, I’m just using them in my journals and hand delivering to friends. Love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

I know E6000 has come out with another less toxic version, but I have not tried it. Maybe for gluing, you could take the remainder of the project to a better ventilated part of the house? About hot glue -- years ago I went to a conference for Close to My Heart consultants and we made pins and swapped them. Most people stamped images, laminated them, cut them out, and then hot glued the pins to the back. You should have seen the conference center floor! It was littered with the designs that fell off the hot glue, and the attendees were wearing nothing but bare pins with no designs.

Thanks for the wonderful paper clip tutorial its very informative! Is tacky or glitter glue good to use for this project?
@LollyPalooza3 жыл бұрын
"glitter glue" really means glue with glitter in it. However, there is a company called Art Institute that makes glue for their glitter. Crafters have come to call it "glitter glue," though there's no glitter in it. It also works well on paper. You don't "need" tacky glue, but you can use it (for paper only, not fabric, metal, plastic, etc.)

Love the paperclips, thanks for the glue information, but please what does the foam do? does it hold the clip better? Just wondering cause I would like to make some to send to friends for Xmas.
@LollyPalooza2 жыл бұрын
it creates a nice flat project. Otherwise, if you glue just cardstock on either side of the paper clip, it's bumpy, and you can feel the paper clip on the back.
