Lombok Surf Trip Video Guide - 5 "best bet" spots for beginner intermediate & advanced

Lombok island is a beautiful alternative to the busy island of Bali. If you like trendy restaurants and want to party all night, Bali is the better choice. If you prefer a more quiet, beautiful experience than consider Lombok.
We selected 5 surf spots locations starting around the south coast of Lombok near Kuta. Desert Point and Mawi both face similar directions favorable to dry season winds. Desert Point is located on the isolated south west coast of Lombok and is a 2 hour and 20 minute drive (98KM) from Kuta.
Much of the lodging in Lombok is centralized in Kuta however it is a short drive to Pantai Aan, Seger, and Gerupuk. Mawi is a little further drive from Kuta but has more favorable winds than places like Seger in the dry season.

@@freshpr796 Usually you can. They often ask for passport photo and scooter registration. I have heard people in the past state if the scooter is not in your name they want a letter from the owner stating it is ok to take it to another island. I have never had that happen to me. The rate for the ferry for the scooter and passengers is under 200,000 rupiahs combined. I suggest you book a hotel in Kuta Lombok in advance. I was there a week ago and all decent rooms were booked so l had to stay in an overpriced room that was a dump.

Dry season best bets are Mawi and on big swells, Desert Point. Rainy season best bets are Seger and if windy, InsideGerupuk is more protected.

Lombok is way better than the overrated island the so called Bali! Also the people of lombok are nicer and more friendly and welcoming than the people of Bali Speaking based on my experience to have visited both islands several times

Bali has been overwhelmed with tourists for decades. In general, the more crowded the place, the less friendly it becomes.

Good waves there especially deserts.please all go there.thank god i know where there is still uncrowded surf on so many other islands.thats why you wont see videos ,maps etc or directions to get there.its called secret spots and still are today.just a few know.c
