This looks good. I wonder if I could use smoked salmon, which has a salty flavor, and leave out the salt?

Lomi lomi salmon calls for salted salmon. If using salted salmon no need to add salt. The salt is only if you’re making you’re own salted salmon.

I will try this. Looks yummy. Can we use hot peppers to make this spicy? By the way after taking out from the fridge after adding the salt. You have to wash them… does the water make the salmon soggy? Let me know I really want to make this… thank u Julie

You can add peppers if you'd like. You are just rinsing the salmon, not soaking in water. The salmon will not be soggy after.
