In which I demo the Lomo KZMP-7M Rytym Reporter, designed in the 1980s to take on the Swiss Nagra Film Sound recorders. This is truly a high-end piece of gear and was made up to the mid-90s. My model is from 1993 and came with a lot of accessories, including a nice belt.

The tape recorder "Ритм-Репортёр" 25Д57М" has been produced by the Leningrad enterprise "Lomo" since 1977. The tape recorder is included in the КЗМП7М reportage recording complex and is intended to be used both with the complex and autonomously for synchronous recording of sound accompaniment in off-site conditions of reportage or feature film filming. The tape recorder operates both from an autonomous power supply and from a 220 V AC network via a remote power supply.

there is a switch "ускор ход" on the right to the main play/right selector which means "sped up play" maybe if you can record with this switch on you could then slow down the recording by switching it off during play. or just speed up your recordings :) hope this helps

i have no idea how youtube recommended this channel to me. YES, I am interested in all things synth and YES, I do music production and have for years, but never have I ever looked this stuff up. I'm watching every video you have put out! I subscribed and I'm following your bandcamp. Great content brother. I own a Yamaha djx2, microkorg, and a kawai sx-240 is the oldest thing in my possession. I mostly just use Reason, but I love older equipment like this! You remind me of my friend, Hunter, who is about your age, same hair, glasses. He owns a bunch of older sequencers and effects like this. When we jam, it's madness! I've done nothing to let youtube lead me to this channel, but I'm glad it did.

When you have tested it, you can send it to me ....;) The red light is blinking because LOMO's camera production was just a side project. LOMO was much into optics and optical instruments for aviation. LOMO, actually stans for - Leningradskoe Optical-Mechanical Combinat (Combinat was a sort of factory made up of several functions and divisions) PS. I missed an Olimp-004 a few years ago. My brother in law had just passed away and me and my wife was staying for a few weeks in his apartment preparing to sell it. In his possession was an Olimp-004, but I never brought that with me back home ...

9:24 but usually, the tape would be edited. On the other hand, it saves battery power, when the motor doesn't run all the time, so it's a minor disadvantage to start recording few seconds earlier. In the age of the first studio video recorders, they had to live with the need, to start recording and playback 2 minutes before, because the unit needed this time to record and playback properly, but they could deal with this, they usually have a schedule, a point where it starts. Back to this tape recorder, it seems that they are concerned about reliability and so they doesn't waste energy. There is no context, where it wouldn't be possible to start recording few seconds in advance.
