Watching Trigun during the peak of my depression back in 2010 permanently changed how I looked at pacifism. It's not about what others think about you, whether it is effective as a philosophy for stopping future harm or even about the people you let live. It's about the value in life and the potential you see in people. Something amazing about the original Trigun is how it so effectively communicates that Vash the Stampede can be both right and wrong at the same time. The world is full of love, peace and mercy, you just have to find it. Hell, sometimes you gotta pry it out of people.

There is one thing that i noticed about Trigun and 90's anime adaptations in general: even tho they failed to be 100% faithfull to the manga (you can't be faithfull to something that still doesn't exist after all), they never failed to catch the atmosfere, the ost, the settings, the design... they never fail to immerge you in the world and you instantly get in the mood of the story.
@Impalingthorn7 ай бұрын
This is why I hate Trigun Stampede. The original Trigun may have been half filler, but EVERY episode was absolutely drenched in the atmosphere and principles that Trigun was trying to convey. Frankly, I don't care about the manga either because if not for THIS SHOW hardly anyone would remember or care about Trigun. Sometimes the adaptation humbles the source material. Sure, Trigun could have been improved in some ways, but that complete inability to learn from what the adaptation did RIGHT is what made Stampede a hunk of sh-- with pretty visuals stapled on top.

You can go to some self development courses. Or you can watch Trigun attentively. Your choice. Just remember, it doesn’t matter how strong you are. How you can accept your weak and even evil points matters. Accept. Understand. Improve. Remember, learning life is painful. But if you don't learn from life, you get much more pain, so much, you either go insane in a way, or improve. Sometimes, you are not to have a choice. Sometimes your values, principles, and all your core are to be shattered, to be turned to dust. You are to live with that from that moment on. That’s the moment when you go insane or improve. Still, you can pick up the fragments of your former self. What survived? Why? Why did the totally broken parts didn’t survive? What I want and can believe now? Be honest with yourself. Be cruelly honest with yourself. And after that - make something new, using the old parts and the new understanding. Welcome to the new life. You became stronger. Just remember, it doesn’t matter how strong you are. How you can accept your weak and even evil points matters. Accept. Understand. Improve.
