‘Time passes, people move. Like a river's flow, it never ends. A childish mind will turn to noble ambition. Young love will become deep affection.’ The march of time left only ruins of Lon Lon Ranch, but sometime long ago when the ruins still had life, a ranch girl and her fairy boy met. As they grew from childhood, his courage and ambition saved her ranch, and their loving bond as children became deep affection. The wind battered ruins are all that remains, but the song they once shared remains somewhere on that very same wild breeze.

It could have been maintained for 10,000 years, and was only recently destroyed 100 years ago. Keeping the ranch for 10,000 years is quite ridiculous, but possible, and still the best explanation for it if it's truly the same Lon Lon Ranch. If the ruins of Oot's castle town and Temple of Time are in the Great Plateau even after 10,000 thousand years, then it's not crazy to think Lon Lon Ranch is there too. The ranch wasn't in TP, but the geography isn't always consistent. There were no Gerudo in TP either, but they aren't extinct, they just happened not to be there.

I swear I wasn't sad until I heard the music playing.... omg 😣😞 It got me emotional after that I'm legit holding back tears. Some people may think it's childish to get emotional over this video, but it's because we grew up playing Ocarina of Time & now this is how it looks like after years. It's in ruins. Of corse it's 100 years later or 10,000 years later but it kinda makes you think about how much time has passed. Ocarina of Time really impacted us as 90's kids & that's why so many of us are emotional from this video. Yes OOT can be overrated to others but it did impact a lot of us, especially games from back then. I think it's still my favorite Zelda game along with Majora's Mask. Me personally, I do not think it's overrated because the game just had something special that brought back smiles & memories I had when I was a child. Not giving a shit about my responsibilities & playing games all day. Hearing the song of the opening title screen as Link rides Epona, it really meant a lot to me as I'm an adult thinking about how much the game brought joy to me & how lucky I was to play it. The music, the sound effects, the voices, nothing can replace the feeling the game brought us. That's why OOT has a special place in my heart. & That's why this video does make me emotional. You truly will never play OOT the first time ever again, even if you play it the second or thrid time... the magical feeling the game gave was special. I always wished they had made a sequel after MM, because I really loved the Hero of Time.
@micman9637 жыл бұрын
OoT truely was a legendary game, I doubt many would say it's childish to be so emotionally attached to those memories. 1998 was honestly one of the biggest years in gaming with releases of OoT, Metal Gear Solid, Star Craft brood war, Half Life 1, Resident Evil 2 ect ect. I played through OoT and Majora's mask before BOTW came out and It brought back a lot of memories of my childhood. Majora's mask is my favorite Zelda game, I can say that with conifidence even though I probably beat OoT 20-30 times. Majora's mask has such a unique atmosphere and OST, there's no game that sounds or feels like it, and it also had some of the best side quests in all of gaming. I think one could argue that the couple's side quest in Majoras Mask might be THE best side quest ever, there's so much to it and it took me forever to figure it out when I was little, tons of optional cut scenes like if you steal the goron's room key at stock pot inn, you can peek through the crack in the wall and listen to Anju and her Mom talking. Also you can wait and peek at the black market vendor in Kafei's hideout. There's tons of neat secrets in those quest chains
@Khoukiebby7 жыл бұрын
micman963 YES. I was scrolling through some of the comments saying how OOT is overrated & not a good game. Of corse if you compare the game to the most recent games, it's not as good. BUT for it's age, OCARINA OF TIME IS AMAZING. I totally agree with you, & this video totally broke my heart! Cause we loved these games & seeing it in ruins totally makes me sad! The side quests in MM is so meaningful. It's the first game that makes you feel so happy doing the side quests & yes the anju & Kafei quest was very emotional. I cannot agree any more with you. 😞 It totally pains me I wish they made a game about the hero of time cause his games were so legendary...... 😿
@Khoukiebby7 жыл бұрын
micman963 in Majora, rewinding time made me feel so sad. I love these games so much. 😞😞😞😞😞
@micman9637 жыл бұрын
Yes OoT for it's time was legendary. It's world map inspired many games such as elderscrolls to make something even bigger, and the lock on system is used in many games even today, like Dark Souls or varias action games. also the ocarina itself which had fast travel to teleport from place to place was essentially fast travel which you see in many games now, hell you were basically hacking the game by using the ocarina when you speed of the day using the song of suns or w/e. Majora's Mask is so tense, gloomy, and even dark/depressing, yet it's so interesting to watch the world end over and over because you have to keep replaying the song. Like in the couple's quest when they get reunited they are actually waiting there to die when the moon falls in just a few minutes later. One of my other favorite side quests was when the aliens are abucting the cows. It's very creepy to see the way Malon and her Sister act when you don't help them save the cows, but then also see the difference when you save them and get to do that milk-run chase sequence on the wagon. Then after that sequence you go to farm again on the final day and find Malon's older sister giving her the special milk that is implied to have alcohol since the world is ending and she wants to get her little sister drunk before everyone dies. If you don't give kafei's pendant to Anju she will take refuge in the farm as well, but if you give it to her then she'l wait for kafei in stock pot until the world ends. Man I just love that game, such interesting quest chains :D

Fun fact, this was legit the first time I've ever seen my brother tear up. I showed him this, I teared up. As for me, different reaction. While the ocarina zelda wasn't my favorite game, I did have a rush of nostalgia, given how Lon Lon Ranch was my favorite part of the ocarina game. Had Me Like Edge when he just saw that crowd in the 2020 Royal Rumble. Huffing and puffing but keeping it together.

Wake up 100 years later and seeing everything in ruins, remembering your friends only to find out they are now dead. The king's soul lingers in hyrule, realising his fault to Zelda but too late to salvage it. Heavy stuff. And the best part, it's not heavy handed.

I met a traveller from an antique land, Who said-“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand, Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed; And on the pedestal, these words appear: My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

I literally gave up my later years in life during HS to pursue what i thought i wanted but wasnt nearly any bit close to what i wanted and what i knew id be happy with... the point im trying to say is that choose and chase wisely of what you would truly be happy about later in your years....

I wonder if it wasn’t in ruins before Calamity Ganon attacked. It should be a pretty famous establishment due to their milk, maybe Malon’s descendants were living there, going about business as usual and then fled when the Gaurdians attacked and destroyed the ranch; which was left to rot in the 100 years it was abandoned before Link awoke from his coma. After all, I’d doubt there’d be any wood left after 10,000 years. The stone structures, sure. But the gate entrance would definitely have fell apart well before 100 years let alone 10,000. I’m not old enough to have grown up with Ocarina of Time or Nintendo games in general but I get this sad feeling similar to nostalgia when I think about Malon, the bright little girl who used to run around this very ranch singing songs, enjoying her life, meeting Link, the things she went through. All here. In this open field peppered with rotting wood overrun with overgrown vines and weeds with the remnants of stone buildings standing almost as stalwart as they did 10,000 years ago despite the shape they’re in. I get teary eyed just thinking about it. I like to think she settled down with Link and lived a full, happy life together. It’s what they both deserved. Looking back on happy memories can be sad, and it can be even sadder knowing those memories will all be forgotten one day, almost as if they never happened, but they did happen. Those moments existed at a point in time and space and while maybe no one will remember someday, so what? Your time is and has always been now. Time waits for no one yet it marches on for us all. That is the valuable gift that the universe, God- if you’re religious, has allowed us in the conception of our beings. Time. If nothing else, you can’t say that the universe itself didn’t give you the time of day, hehe.

*Link would find himself approaching an abandoned ranch for some reason it looked familiar to him as he would walk to get a closer look his eyes would widen at the archway this was Lon Lon Ranch at first he was in denial that this was the same ranch he remembered when he went on his journey as the hero of time but what sealed the deal for him was a lone horse in the stable the coat the mane those eyes there was no mistaking it he was gazing upon his old friend Epona the one horse throughout the entire ranch he had befriended was all that remained of the ranch the horse would look at him approaching the stable and she would move towards him as well the 2 stood in silence until Link gently stroked her mane finally he couldn't take it anymore he hugged his beloved horse and let the tears flow as a subtle breeze would pick up* "You came back..." *a voice called out in the wind causing link to turn around that's when he saw her Malon the daughter of Talon although she wasn't part of the physical realm she lingered on as a spirit keeping the appearance she had as a young woman Link was Awestruck and grief stricken at the same time as there was a point in time where he might've loved her* "I knew you'd come back someday...Fairy Boy" *Link went to hug Malon only to pass right through her as the woman simply disappeared in a breeze Link would wipe away his tears finding closure that his friend was alright with a newfound determination Link would mount Epona and ride off to save Hyrule just as he did as the Hero Of Time*

@cmoon31217 жыл бұрын
Now im gonna write some *SPOILERS!!* down below, and now i just warned you, here we go: Breath of the Wild takes place several thousand years after not only Ocarina of Time but also Twilight Princess. With some speculation we know that Link returned from Termina after Majora's Mask, and most likely settled down while also working as a royal knight. The Hero's Shade (which is confirmed to be OoT Link) is TP Link's ancestor, Hyrule Historia confirms this. Link in TP already has Epona from the start, knows her song, and grows up on a farm close to the old hyrule castle town. In case you fell off there, the Sacred Grove in TP is NOT the Lost Woods, it is the old castle town, with the withered down Temple of Time, which is why you find the master sword there, but it "feels" like you find it in the lost woods just like in the downfall timeline. My point is, Link from TP has many qualities common with a farmer. OoT Link probably married and had kids with Malon, as this is implied. A sheikah stone near Hyrule Castle says that Malon dreams of a knight in shining armor to come save her on his horse, Link fits this description. So whoever is emotional about finding "Lon Lon Ranch" in BotW.. sorry guys, its just an easter egg. There is *10'000 years* between Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild! I read some comments like "what happened to Malon" or "what did they do to her". I dunno if I just didn't catch the joke or something, but i just wanted to confirm that she did not exist 100 years ago or anything like that, she actually (probably) had a very happy ending spending her days with Link and their kids :)
@royox7 жыл бұрын
BOTW can't happen on the TP timeline as in the Zora's Domain you can find some ruins talking about how the elefant beast was named after Princess Ruto, an ancient Zora SAGE that helped the hero to beat ganon. Ruto ONLY becames a Sage (she DIES against Morpha) on the Adult Timeline. TP happens on the KID timeline.
@royox7 жыл бұрын
Ruto never awoke as a Sage on the kid timeline. There was no need. Ganondorf got sealed by the other sages, the sages that he kill on the Adult timeline while Link is sealed for 7 years.
@thedarkflowkiller7 жыл бұрын
Sorry bro....at the end of OoT Link becomes a kid again and goes into Clock Town of Majora's Mask. He'll never marry Malon.
@cmoon31217 жыл бұрын
***** that's certainly possible. but where was that ranch in TP lol royox when does Ruto die against Morpha ? As for the awakening of the sages; they were sages non the less, even if Ganon was not around they were still sages of their respective element. Why would that change? There is no saying they didn't awaken (but I get your point, and we don't have any additional information) DFK but Link returned from Terminal after he was done. It is heavily implied that he settled down with Malon, since TP Link is OoT Link's blood descendant

I just got into The Legend of Zelda series and seeing this makes me completely rethink all of those ruins i ran by every day. I now understand why this game is so important to all you fans out there. It takes nostalgia but also tells us the player that time keeps going and new games are to come but to never forget where it first started out. And over the years new fans will experience their first LoZ game and they’ll show their kids and so on and so fourth. It also makes me more vindictive now when I go kill Calamity Gannon. Man he destroyed so much. I really hope in the next game Zelda and Link try to rebuild Hyrule and we get more of a huge town we can assassins creed our way across rooftops. Thanks for making this video.
