Archival footage shot by a West German filmmaker while visiting London probably in early 1977.
It contains stock footage of double-decker buses, Carnaby street, Guards memorial, people feeding birds in Hyde park, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Winston Churchill statue, Westminster Abbey, river Thames, and more.

The thing that gets me is how cleaned up the buildings are now. Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament used to be caked in black soot. There was a drabness to London about this time.

I was a kid in 70s London and just thought all the buildings were black by design. And then in the 80s they started sandblasting - couldn't believe St Pancras emerging from the soot.

@@gabriellaj.o.6180 But thats no different to any other major capital city. Times change. Back then, we had the IRA, jimmy saville, myra hindley, gary glitter. So its not like crime was non existent back then. I always look for the positives in a place and London still has many.

I was 10 in 1977 and living in Wood Green, Ringslade Road. My mum (bless her), bought our first house for £6k, sold a few years later for £12k, last time I looked on Zoopla, the house was sold for half a million!! It’s a 2 up, 2 down terrace house. Crazy!!

Looks like interesting footage, but sadly was unable to watch more than a minute before stopping, the watermark in the dead centre of the screen was not only distracting, it also constantly caused me to try and refocus on it every time the shot changed. I understand that you don't want footage used without permission, but maybe place a smaller logo/watermark in the top right instead of that weird body builder logo. Its a shame because you look like you have a lot of interesting films collated, but sadly I won't be viewing them, as the centrally placed watermark has rendered them unwatchable.
