You follow two old police cars from 8:35 to 11:35. A black Wolseley and a Morris Minor. I googled their numbers, KLE 772 and A 210. There’s lots on line about them. Apparently they’re owned by Metropolitan Police and are part of a collection based at Hendon. The Wolseley dates from 1948 and was used in patrolling the coronation of Queen Elizabeth.
@withastickangrywhiteman28226 жыл бұрын
I believe those old looking cars are newly-made... It is impossible to maintain a 1948's car in good condition after being used for 60-70 years. One thing is good for the Brits is they allow old cars have a chance to show up, they allow people to buy modern made old looking cars. In fact a lot of Yankee cars back to 1970-1990 are good looking too, a shame they no more make them

@@withastickangrywhiteman2822 It’s not my subject and I would defer to your superior knowledge, except that reports online of a 2014 event seem to be saying that these are originals not replicas. Including an interview with the Detective Sergeant in charge of the collection. I don’t think I can post web links in a comment but a simple google will throw up lots of links including pics. Some pics show the cars being worked on and show their interiors. Take a look. I’m sure you’d be interested and let’s know your opinion. I'm old enough to remember Z-Cars on TV with those blue-green Morris Minors, and the Wolseley is wonderful. I'd like them to be original, although I agree they look in amazing condition.

Hey J Utah you are doing a fantastic job running such a channel. I am still bewildered because no other similar channel exists. In the US with a population of 330 Million no other person has the time, resources and enthusiasm to run a channel which has high resolution driving videos?

I appreciate your feedback! That's a good question I haven't been able to answer myself :) So I'll be traveling again soon. What parts of the world do you think would have the broadest appeal across KZbin? East Asia, more Europe, South America, or more of North America?
@Siddeo6 жыл бұрын
Each part of the world has it's own environment. It's hard to firmly decide. You already had shot lot of USA. But because of sheer size of the nation any amount of shooting will always leave other areas which are not shot. More of Europe will definitely be appreciated by the viewers. If you go to South America or Asia then it will be first such systematic 4K upload on KZbin.

Beautiful tour. Thank you J Utah. Not matter how creative and quirky contemporary architects can be but new glass-and-steel buildings fail to convey the sense of mystery and the allure given by old buildings. The only thing they convey is coldness. I mean look how charming and warm Old Westminster, Belgravia and Pimlico look! Before you all step in, of course, of course new buildings must be built with a modern style but it's obvious to me that contemporary architecture has not yet hit the right spot.
@benedettobruno16696 жыл бұрын
@Artan L Artan L, back in the 1990s I left my native Sicily for London where then I lived for a while. I remember my long summer night walks in the streets of Kensington, Notting Hill, Hampstead, Chelsea, Bayswater, Belgravia, Pimlico, Earl's Court, Fulham, ...how charming! Pure magic! I was totally mesmerized and would walk for hours and hours every time I could. But it was not only the neo-classical architecture that struck me but also the "domestic architecture" as I used to call it. Little houses that had no neo-classical element whatsoever. Old buildings and houses are often small-scale and that's what gives them a "human" comfy feel. Modern, tall, glass-and steel buildings have a "computer-generated/corporate" feel that conveys no warmth whatsoever. I am not totally against modern architecture though. I do like the London City Hall for instance with its bulbous shape or the San Francisco Transamerica Pyramid but even with my best efforts they don't give me any warmth. They're beautiful in their shape but that's all about it. If contemporary architecture doesn't take the "computer-generated/corporate" feel out of itself and replaces it with some...how shall I put it?...some sort of "soul", then it will always be second class architecture compared to the one you admire when you stroll down charming Notting Hill, or Oxford, old Vienna, Sevilla, Florence, Art Nouveau Barcelona, Prague...
@ds18685 жыл бұрын
@Artan the modern buildings you see in Westminster simply replaced all the older buildings destroyed by German aerial bombing in 1941. There was no choice as nothing was left. The result of Great Britain standing up to the Germans. Shame the French and the Italians didn't do the same.

If you can drive (very) competently through that mêlée for about 40 minutes with: - no more than two driver faults ("minors") within a specific category; - no more than fifteen driver faults in total; - no serious or dangerous faults ("majors") at all, You will pass your road test, which, combined with a theory test pass, will grant you a British driving licence. If you accrue six points within the first two years of holding the licence, it will be revoked and you'll have to redo all the tests from scratch. (Twelve points, or a more "egregious" traffic offence such as high speeding or DUI, normally involves heavy(ish) fines and a magistrate's ban, and driving while formally under a magistrate's ban (disqualification) can lead to severe fines or prison, quite easily.) :)
