Born and bred Londoner here. I'm afraid you got your bridges mixed up. The bridge you were on when you were talking about London Bridge was actually Tower Bridge. London Bridge is the next bridge along, most recently having been completed in 1972. The building of the first London Bridge began in 1176, and stood for nearly 600 years before being replaced.
