There's an Ambulance with a heart failure patient stuck on the traffic and he's on the way to the hospital. Traffic Police Officers: Which Ambulance? Biker: It's an Emergency Ambulance Sir. Traffic Police Officers: Ok. *On their Siren & Escorts an Ambulance to the Hospital* *One hour later* Traffic Police Officers: We're here at the hospital. A wide variety of things can be done to reduce traffic congestion. As always, the regular public transport such as trains and buses always helps. Park and ride services are good too and should be heavily promoted to remind people such services exist.

Add some bicycle paths and your problem is solved. See: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z2jYq5SPoMZ1qJY NB I often hear the excuse that when you even consider adding bicycle paths that it will lead to more congestion (not true) and that emergency vehicles will get stuck in traffic (also not true - see video link)

it IS true when you have very limited amount of space availablewith sidewalks and buildings right next to it ... your example is nice but it's a rather open space in a much less densly populated area

It's very obvious from the start that they're thinking about the opposite side of the road. That's why they hung back at 0:15 but it wasn't clear so they had to continue in traffic. Emergency driving is about planning not just forcing people out of the way.
