It’s interesting how different ambulances from England are than the ones in the US I kind of like England better in my opinion but you know they’re all different.

@5LRHYTHMS As someone who has spent many a year working in the back end of, and driving the front end of these big yellow boxes, I gotta say I'm kind of split regards UK vs US Ambulances... 🤔 I've toured around, and even been an observer in an F450 Super Duty and a Chevrolet C4500, which both have fantastic room to manoeuvre in the back. Modern UK ambos aren't what I would call "cramped" but when compared to the space available to our American counterparts it's like working in a tent compared to a hotel room! The conversions and quality of the equipment housing and layout is also to a very high standard. However... The UK fleet relies on much lighter, faster and fuel efficient vehicles. I use Skoda Octavia Scout FRV (a Fast Response 4x4 Estate/Station Wagon) which has a 2.0l turbo diesel lump. The vast majority of our Mercedes, Fiat and Iveco DCA fleets use a similar sized engine, and despite it shifting a much greater weight, they can easily keep up with me when responding in convoy. In the 90s, both Ford and Chevy did provided ambulances to UK Ambulance Trusts, but they just weren't well suited for smaller, winding, often poorly maintained British roads. The turning circle of the F150s was especially problematic. All in all, my perfect Rig would be our American cousins building the back (business end lol) and us Brits providing the bits that drive the thing. Hope you're staying safe over there? You guys are experiencing a massive COVID spike in some states?!

Resident Elect wow that’s some awesome info. And that sounds like it would be a pretty cool ambulance. And yeah I’m in Maryland right near Washington DC and I mean we aren’t the worst in terms of most cases but we are not anywhere close to opening back up unfortunately. Lots of people refuse to wear masks because they think it’s dumb and they think they won’t get it etc.....it’s very very frustrating to me I wear a mask when ever I go out to the store or even just to get the mail. People also need to wash their hands. I will say one state that is having the biggest spike is Florida because they opened the beaches up and everyone packed the beaches there. And for some reason Disney world thought today would be the perfect time to reopen......as you can see I’m not very impressed with how my country is handling the pandemic....it’s very frustrating that people can’t just listen and do what we have been told to do in order for things to start improving.....*sigh*

@@5lrhythms803 Dude, it's no better over here, trust me... Despite our death rate declining, the government is still locking down 100+ locations every week due to localised outbreaks. The entire city of Leicester has been quarantined, with police checkpoints, the NHS hospitals turning away patients requiring treatment for non urgent matters, and the military providing logistical and medical support. Our "R-Rate" which is how we measure the risk of infection amongst the population is at present (nationally) hovering between 0.8 and 1.0. 1.0+ and we lock down again, as it means one carrier can easily infect 4.5 others in his or her vicinity. We are still reporting between 5000-6000 new cases daily, which again is far less than March - June, but who knows how many are going unrecorded due to certain groups who aren't integrated into our communities and mistrust any form of state intervention or local authority support, so don't get tested. Our Public Health Authority is very fearful that come autumn and winter we will suffer a second mass wave. Apparently the virus thrives in temperatures 4 degrees and below. Factor in many people will already be suffering from seasonal colds and influenza, resulting in increased coughing and sneezing, and you have a recipe for disaster. The Prime Minister only made it law TODAY for us to wear face masks when inside of shops etc... Stable door and bolted horses come to mind?! Changing the subject somewhat, have you seen a lot of US Ambulance providers and State run EMS are now using the Mercedes Sprinter and Ford Transit?! I could not believe it when I saw that American Medical Response are replacing their Ford's with Mercs?!!
