Excellent video! Just a couple of things: (1) Does the Gherkin smell like gherkins? (2) Can you make a standalone series of you visiting famous landmarks and asking about their lift capacity? I'd also like to know the exact manufacturer and specifications of each lift system and how frequently the lifts are tested. I like lifts. 🥰

Great question liampartridge5260. The Gherkin does not in fact smell of Gherkins however that could always change.... Regarding the lifts we at London Architecture Series will makea conscious effort to make our next videos more lift orientated.

@@harryvenablesI did made a jokes in the comic about ‘what if the Gherkin had actual Gherkin smell’ alongside ‘what if the stonehenge was actually a golf target for giants’ and ‘the Big Ben allows every people with the name Ben to go in’. about a decade ago (it’s in Japanese tho)

The Gherkin joins several other odd buildings on the London skyline, and I think it deserves the prize for the Most Weird. It was probably more expensive per square foot to build, has more wasted interior space and costs more to maintain than a structure of more conventional design. Form was a higher priority than function. Not that it's a bad thing, if you can afford it.......
