This is a fantastic scenario (obviously not fantastic events). It’s not the traditional Nuclear Attack scenario, it’s realistic (again, hopefully not too realistic) and I can tell you have used elements from HRH Prince Philip’s death announcement. Fantastic work!

Not via the Emergency Alert System but major news networks like CBS, NBC & ABC would interrupt normal programs to break the news Heck, I don’t think even the Queen’s death would be broadcasted like this in the UK either. It’d probably be similar to what we saw with Prince Philip. BBC, ITV & Sky would break into programming for an “important announcement” and cut to someone wearing all black, broadcast the announcement, play the National Anthem, then it’d be nonstop programming about the Queen for like 7 days
