nice film - I got married in St James church in Mussel on the Hill and hired a RM to get everyone to the reception. Brought back so many memories - thank you.

Some nice sound effects on the onboard scenes. A reminder of what interesting noises the voith driveline made. And the rattling.

So thankful you got your hands on his collection. They're gems. If he had been around to start his own channel, I would have subscribed for sure, after you recommended it of course.

I was thinking of you when i saw the Metro ride, right up your street as it were.... lol I think he would have loved to have had a YT channel but was a bit frail when he passed on in early 2020. Happily his mind was still firing on all cylinders.... He got involved with a group of real ale drinking bus, train & aviation enthusiast's after a triple by-pass in the late 1990s. He used to take a walk to South Ruislip to watch our Binliner train to Calvert each evening and he got to know some of us drivers. We got him involved in our Thursday evening drink festivities plus trips out on preserved buses, he even had a few cab rides on the locos as well!

Great to know more about the man. It will bring more meaning than there already is to his work. I also enjoyed the shots of the homes in the street. Nice slices of London life to reflect on.

smashing («« I *never* say this descriptor) ordinariness -you- Jon(?) happened to film towards the end (e.g., foxy castle, etc.)...wow 🍸

It was a now depated friend who filmed this, inspired by seeing my video films from the 1980s and early 90s.... On some trips i was with him but this was a solo effort and seeing what he filmed is as new to me as it is you....

awww...sorry that happened to Jon

right on 👍 you'd even hopped aboard that model to film riding it...might that fleet've had been re-geared, re-engined (I can't remember how they sounded)?
@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus2 жыл бұрын
This is a vid taken by a departed friend of mine, but the sound is a normal Metro sound. I have ridden, and driven enough of them to remember the sound well!

6:00Was that deliberate, or did the advert-paster-onner make a bit of a boo-boo? 🤔

Probably a cock-up in the garage, an advert fixer in a rush to finish!

The W7 was an incredibly busy route all day and evenings. Used to hate Sunday late shifts as they could be 12 round trips. If I remember correctly, one duty was 2 rounders, break, then 10 rounders.
@SoiBuakhaoRoutemasterbus2 жыл бұрын
As an ex bus driver, that sounds crazy!.... 2 and then 10, you'd lose the plot after 6 rounders......
