I was at school in 2003. But I have been on those buses when my Nan took me to London for a day trip and it was so nice.

Gosh, that brought back some memories. I did a rounder from Aldgate to Paddington and back drving RTL 139 (that's me at the Paddington end). I wasn't sure of the route, so it was one bell for left, two for right. And there was more rain in the cab than out!!! Happy days.

I managed a rounder on the 38s with RML 900 and a rounder on the 159s with RT 3871, i could have done other days but spent my time filming...... Lulu was a good bus to drive, and she did more last days than any other single heritage bus, thanks to Roger Wright and Blue triangle.....

Great memories, I used to commute across London by bicycle throughout 2003. Unbelievable to think how many RMs were in service then, just two years before the "aus".

No, there are heritage RT buses operated by bus companies like Blue Triangle and Ensignbus. It was the start of the withdrawal of London's last Routemaster operated routes, route 25 being the first to go. On some last days quite a few heritage buses would run alongside the regular service vehicles......
