Talking about pain and scars, here is a quote from Rose Kennedy: "It has been said, ‘time heals all wounds.’ I do not agree. The wounds remain. In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers them with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone."
@Stevek552

Absolutely. Sometimes when I'm lost in thought and revisit those old wounds, I can still feel the pain in them. Although, I have grown to be a much stronger person, it's the lesson in the pain that kept me moving forward and that's how I know they are truly never healed. I have just learned how to live with them and protect them.

London Grammar should compose a film soundtrack. They are such geniuses at building atmosphere and sound design that I believe many of their songs would have similar power even with the lyrics removed. Their emotionally honest, confrontational-yet-not-antagonistic tracks often convey raw pain but rarely imply despair, because there's a sense of a healing and maturation taking place, guided by an angelic voice and ethereal synths that hold you together just when you feel like breaking.
@awaiszafar9579
@awaiszafar9579 Жыл бұрын
It can imply despair and hope both, depends on the way you choose to see it, Depends on how you want it to be , Mindset! that’s what stoics believed and taught us. I don’t know whether im clear enough or not.

I’m here because of “The Split” What a phenomenal programme. With phenomenal messages. This one being my favourite: “The myriad of tiny moments that make up a life. Take care of them. Hold them gently in your hands. Remind yourself that nothing is promised. That this little life of ours is less about what we’ve earned & gathered and more who we’ve loved and who we leave behind” 💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓💓

Came here the same way and love that quote too. Spoiler alert for me since not far enough through the series yet (only on Series 1, Episode 2) but inspired me to keep watching! Funny thing is I find the music very uplifting but the lyrics seem to be about a feeling of bitterness following a relationship upset. Maybe it's the John Hopkins production or the influence of different band members, tho I like the "My darkest friend" which suggests to me some cognitive resolution following the initial upset feelings so maybe it's about acknowledging that there is pain but also learning and things will be ok in the end. Anyway just listened to this at least 5 times on repeat :-)

Was lucky enough to get a signed copy vinyl and cd of the album. Listen to their music every day. Hannah's voice is awesome, and Dot and Dan just own backing her. Just want to know when you guys will come to Jersey ;) sell out guaranteed! Much love.

Love, what did you do to me ? My only hope is to let life stretch out before me. Can't break me on this lonely road I'm made of many things but I'm not what you are made of Only now do I see the big picture But I swear these scars are fine Only you could have hurt me in this perfect way tonight I might be blind but you taught me the difference between mistakes and what you just meant for me Don't say you ever loved me Don't say you ever cared My darkest friend Words have you forgotten all the lies you left there so fresh turning old in the air And now you have no weapons, you can try to get close to those I love Do you really think they don't know what you are made of Only now do I see the big picture But I swear these scars are fine Only you could have hurt me in this perfect way tonight I might be blind but you taught me the difference between mistakes and what you just meant for me Don't say you ever loved me Don't say you ever cared My darkest friend hoohoo Instrumental (Don't say you ever) (Ever loved me) (Don't say you ever) (Ever loved me) (Don't say you ever)

They're possibly my luckiest find because unless I'd typed in "Bands Like Daughter" I'd never have discovered them. Heather's voice is timeless, she could sing anything and make it her own.
