This is the best version of one of if not my ultimate favorite song. Normally I prefer the controlled studio environment that allows us to isolate sounds but once in a while live will blow me away. Hannah and the boys were on point, and whoever sets up the sound for that Italian show is a legit pro and deserves a heap of the credit.

This live performance is out of this world. The band is always great, her talent is always amazing, and this song is always beautiful, but there is just something special about this performance that makes me listen to it over and over and over, almost crying. It's perfect. Better than all the other versions. Her voice just blows you away. She looks like a model, too. Doesn't matter, though. Just close your eyes and escape the madness of this world. Thank you, Hannah Reid and London Grammar, you're a gift to this world.

You know, this made me think that there must be a kind of weird, if fleeting, collective realisation in that room when a band performs like that, in that kind of environment - for a few minutes afterwards, the wannabe popstrels, the audience, and the judges must really have a clear sense of how absurd these programmes are, when they are interrupted by the presence of serious talent, the kind that makes people stop what they're doing and be transfixed (as I was). This kind of power, arrangement, delicacy, and sheer musical heft simply cannot be manufactured, and will always find its audience without artificial help. Just brilliant.

My 20 plus years service to King and Country provided a chance to hear many forms of music in more then a few lands. Some were precious respites from blistering hot sand or freezing ice in the Velds of Cold war Europe. Music soothes the brain form the savages of war and the aftermath of disaster! There has NEVER been such hauntingly Ethereal and melodic perfection from the perfect pitch Mezzo-Soprano voice of Hannah Reid! The musical composition of Dan Rothman and Dominic 'Dot' Major is beyond a simple accompanying role. It is the Trio that makes writes and performs such musical manna from heaven. Cheers.

When Hannah is struggling to sing at her obviously un-earthly level of excellence you can see the pain in her face (see other live recordings), she doesn't hide it well. That's why it was so nice to see at 3:57 her smile with an almost cheeky grin, like yeah I know I just blew everyone out of their seats.

Daughter had to tour the US 2 times before gaining a major following. London Grammar toured part of the US and cancelled the rest of their tour after releasing their first album. I have only witnessed their live performances when visiting the UK. It is an amazing experience. It is probably for the best since some producer has not tried to change their sound to appeal to a more American audience like what happened to Chvrches.

Despite possessing movie star beauty, Hannah Reid never allows her looks to detract from her voice. She never forces her audience to choose between their eyes and their ears when she sings, choosing, more confidently, to rest the burden of success as a performer on her golden vocal cords, instead of her golden hair, and allowing her fans to fall in love with her talent without requiring them to fall in love, first, with her beauty. While she could succeed on looks alone, as many other, less gifted vocalists have before her, instead, she chooses to appreciate her fan's taste in good music, making it, not her cheekbones, the real star of the stage. This, in addition to her stunning vocals, is what sets her apart from so many other artists and makes her likely a voice we will listen to for many years to come.

I've noticed that. I think she suffers from stagefright too. Although the guitarist and drummer could easily be replaced with session guys, I love the way London Grammar hold themselves together and don't allow that shit to happen, especially of course Hannah. Apart from her obvious brilliance as a singer, I really respect Hannah for keeping it together with her 'band'.

100000% agree that’s why i keep coming back to listen to this performance. It’s not just the stripped down version but also the arrangement of the verse/chorus/bridge sounds way more attractive as well as hannah’s diff melodys she adds. in the studio versions it stays the same throughout without those added gorgeous melodies & now i’ve listened to this version the original sounds kinda boring and repetitive.
