They certainly earned their appearence money, which for races as prestigious as London, is quite a few thousand. Two of them are regular Kipchoge pacers, and were part of his SUB2 challenge, so no doubt their also on Nikes main pay role. Just look at the stride length of the top elite runners, twice that of your average club runner. Coming under 46min for 10miles, with a further 16m to go, at the same pace, Impressive. Surprised that the likes on Daniel Wanjuri fell apart, with a 2-03 PB, what happened there ? Their running career is fairly short by sporting standards, so doing a great job on race day, gets noticed, and a pat on the back from head coach. Good them them, a job well done.

11:53 Kipchoge runs to the final water point, gets himself a drink and gains 5 meters courtsey of the acceleration to the water point. The Ethiopian ignores that move, never takes a drink for himself to keep himself cool and hydrated for the final 2Km. Thats was a big mistake from the young man..After that Kipchoge completely destroyed him. That was a masterclass tactic from Kipchoge.. The young man never recovered.

3 years ago nobody predicted his win at berlin with the second fastest marathon ever. He drops out of many races but when he is healthy he has the potential to beat anybody... even Kipchoge
@DrReddit5 жыл бұрын
@@samuelgauthier7355 I don't think he will, his mental strength isn't very good, nowhere near Kipchoge's mental strength because if Bekele had good mental strength he wouldn't drop out of many races, if not, any races. Mental strength is one of the biggest factors in marathon running, fitness too but mental strength is probably the biggest factor in marathoning.

@@samuelgauthier7355 5K-10K Bekele can easily smoke Kipchoge. Ethiopians are genetically made for running but mostly known for mid distances, Kenyans dominate in marathon, the top 10 fastest fastest marathons were ran by mostly kenyans. Only 2-3 on them were Ethiopians.
