Very pleasant ride - good to see a two-track middle section ready perhaps for a new link service from Oxford to Cambridge?

I was fascinated to find this journey as I remember taking it some years ago. When I did so, at one point we had to stop for the conductor to open a set of level crossing gates. Since this did not happen on this journey, I can only assume there was a slight problem on that occasion. I enjoyed doing the journey again.

Just tried the reverse ride to Bedford - most enjoyable and a little busier as well!

Something soothing and almost hypnotic about the sounds! Do you plan to cover the whole network eventually?

Will any single line sections remain when the Oxford Bicester Bletchley Bedford line is completed?
@ChilternTransportProductions4 жыл бұрын
If it’s anything like the Bicester Town “branch line”, the answer will likely be no, as I suspect they’ll be redoubled and have alignments rebuilt to allow for 100mph running
@ds18683 жыл бұрын
@@ChilternTransportProductions this section though Bletchley to Bedford will need a lot of investment to get it integrated with the rest of the project. There are at least nine level crossings and several footpaths to be removed as well as the single sections each end. The Bedford end looks a particular nightmare. The project team have stated this section is proving a real challenge to meet requirements.

Do you think train journeys have a therapeutic affect?

....was also wondering as to what the " ROUND" pipe line thing is...which runs along the right side of the track..starting @17:51..was looking at this ..today..& wondering what it is..??
@ChrisKhaled838 жыл бұрын
+Steve Wyman It looks like a mains gas pipe... There is a railway here where I am in Australia, And it loks just like that. They are marked in diagrams as 'gas main pipe' The look the same, so they must be the same thing, and Beside a railway too.
@stevewyman28228 жыл бұрын
o' ryte..Cheers mate..yeh, I thought it may be a water thing..or gas thing...there are lots of old derelict buildings also alongside that side of the track..
@paddymccreight34708 жыл бұрын
i live alongside the track and yeah there are quite a few old buildings from when there used to be a brickworks factory along the route around the stewartby, marston area, but also the buildings could be old signal boxes as the route was only changed over to modern signals recently
@stevewyman28228 жыл бұрын
yeh, its a cool ride this one..with all the old trackside derelict abandoned buildings etc....I know theres one place in particular...not that far from Bedford..(.where if you are facing forward ) theres a kind of an old yard type place on the right side of the track...with very old run down derelicts..etc...would love to have a wander around there, and do a bit of exploring..!!! :)
@paddymccreight34708 жыл бұрын
I think that might be related to the brickyard there as im sure there were sidings or even where they got the earth for the bricks just further up the line it was most likely linked to it :)

What is that constant clicking noise and the need to adjust the camera all the time? You should have filmed the other way if you had a choice. The sun is right in your line of sight. A great insight, haven't seen that point of view since 1983 or 1984 when the drivers left the door open.
@TrainPlaneHub9 жыл бұрын
atomiswave1971 I was filming it hand held it wasn't an adjustment to the camera at all.

..an amazing little country ride..did it today..!!! :)..should really be " ONE " Track all the way..would give it even more remote atmosphere...amazed by that old derelict landscape..on the right of the tracks.@ 9:46 .just before you reach Stewartbury..wanna have a walk around there at some point..!!!. ~ another feature I really like is all those signal rig thingies..they are well cool...well, I would like them , wouldn't I ..Being a Rigger myself..!!! :)

Hi! I do hope you have plans to film more train cab rides as I find them extremely excellent and enjoyable. Interesting mix of interests, trains and planes or vice versa!!! :))) Here is a wonderful picture of the class 150: www.bahnbilder.de/1200/der-first-great-western-150-796344.jpg (Wish I lived in England where trains are better and passenger service and health care is better and available for all. And... you do not have a bigoted, womanizer as a President.) Regards and thanks, Mr. Dana Mack.
