I jumped off the tube at Tottenham Court Road, and hardly recognised the place. So much has changed in London's regeneration game. Let's hope they leave Tin Pan Alley alone! Still, to quote James Mason; "we'd be foolish to mourn it too readily". That said, I was gutted to discover that 143 Charing Cross Road has been demolished. Back in the early 1960's it had been the Freddie Mills Nite Spot. Freddie was once a household name across Britain, his mysterious death rocked the nation to its boots.
