Wenwen this was so much fun! I love both of your enthusiasm for this project ...I have absolutely no doubt that it’s going to reflect your personalities and I agree with your parents, you should create a space that you are enjoying now in your life. No one knows what the future holds I think the last year has taught us all this. When and if your family size changes you can make adjustments then. Enjoy this time in your life, we all go through what I call phases or seasons of life, my single season with no husband and no children was from 20-44, now I’m 54 so this past ten years has been this new exciting season of my life married and with a child who is now 10, it’s completely and utterly different than the 20-40 phase and it’s perfect for my life now. I didn’t buy a condo in my 20’s thinking where would I put future children, I bought it thinking how many people could I have over for a sit down dinner. I’m so greatful to get to come along on this incredible journey you are on. You have incredible taste in decor which I would expect no less as the daughter of a very talented designer. I’m sure you have your own unique style but it seems actually very refreshing to see someone so young have a very definite idea of what they like. There is nothing wrong with knowing who we are and what we like ❣️

I think the interior designer should do a 3D rendering/presentation of the whole penthouse and everything that is going to be put into it, which can be edited, so you guys can get a feel and atmosphere of the finished space.

I would suggest blu-tacking the wallpaper to the walls, and as you walk past it over the next couple of weeks, it will help you decide whether you can live with your choices and whether you still like it in daylight/artificial lighting.

wow, you two have the BEST taste! I love all the collectible design pieces, and of course the color palette is perfect against the grey backdrop of London. I can't wait to see more furniture pieces and as well as what you're going to do with the spiral staircase, my suggestion would be to have it in the same finish as the floors and then if its too neutral you can add a colorful runner. cheers xx

I’m guessing those stairs went down to a lower level at one time, but when they renovated the building into separate apartments they obviously had to close the stairs off, but weren’t allowed to take them out.

The multi colour rug ( sample on the right) would be stunning with a lilac border on each side. It has all of the colours you love but will read as neutral from afar. ties in all of your colours/vibe. The one you like with the yellow and red will feel clashy. Too "primary colours" feeling. Amazing Penthouse. Congratulations!
