Ian Shaw's (born 1969) mother, actress Mary Ure died from apparent accidental alcohol & barbiturate OD 1975. His father died three years later. By nine years old lost both parents to the Jaws of addiction. Robert Shaws father, a doctor and an alcoholic committed suicide when Robert was 12. Alcohol causes more death and destruction in one year than all the sharks in history, but that sharkness theme touches us deep somewhere in our fears of the abyss, death, the unknown, chaos...?
