The best version of the theme tune. Loved it even when I was a child. Sunday nights, knowing there was school in the morning, which I didn’t really look forward to, but oh how I would go back in a heartbeat. Life was so good then. I just didn’t realise it.

Apart from the movie, he was the only one to star from start to end. If Sicknote wasn't killed off in at the end of series 12/13. He would had be the longest from the movie to the end.

I use to watch Heartbeat then London's Burning like a religion back in the day, after London's Burning bedtime lol. But when I bought the 2 big boxsets series 1-7 & 8-14. I realised I only liked series 1-10. 1-13 was okay cause of the theme and series 14 kinda sucked I realised. I was a kid when I watched these and my mum was pregnant with me when this started in 88 and I was born in late August 88. So I didn't realise till I got the boxsets in my early/mid 20's. That's when I realised 1-10 was the bomb.

Carole Webb had such a sultry voice, and a great voice to listen to for a Scouser. When she'd do role call and lower her voice and say Bluewatch 'tention! For your duties, fall out! That was just wicked.

@@wheelie_1988 same here lol. Back then though I had no idea of the story line, only watched it for the fires 🔥 I was around 8 or 9. Recently watched series 1&2 the shouts brought back so many memories and was brilliant to actually get the story line.

@@jasontrainer-alps5699 I was born halfway through series 1 back in August 88 lol. I do remember the theme from the original and alot of the episodes. But I mostly remember series 11-14. Love that constant guitar twang a great beat Simon Brint and Roddy Mathews are geniuses. The early series were produced by Paul Knight The 1998 theme was composed by Warren Bennett I liked that one but it was never as good as the original

London’s Burning really turned soapy towards the end, when the show ended In 2002 it was around the same time that Paul Marquess took over as producer on The Bill and the very same thing happened it became soapy and from then on the show died a slow death

Yeah, and they totally ruined George's character towards the end, turned him into a joke. He used to be so cool and sound, although a little accident prone lol

No, they never played this theme in whole in the series, it was chopped about for the end credits, although it did appear in a special programme which was made with LWT to show the making of the fourth series.

I just want to add that they RUINED the show when they got rid of this absolutely classic theme and replaced it with a poxy "modern" electronic riff as part of an intro and in the closing credits!

I had this one on TV themes tape, I thought it was a great version and that is a famous English nursery rhyme history stemming from The Great Fire of London. I remember a special which is on one of the DVDs that has a bit of this version on it with the Rhyme called “ Stunts and Stars” .

The kids singing should've been at the start and then blended/faded in with the intro. I think the roll call should've been at the end. *BLUE WATCH, BLUE WATCH SHUN!* *BLUE WATCH FOR YOUR DUTIES FALL OUT!*
