Just a little correction, Elizabeth line services to Heathrow are in operation. They ran under the TFL rail branding for a while but the only difference is they dont run through Paddington onto Abbey Wood and instead terminate in Paddington alongside the GWR and Heathrow Express services. The Elizabeth Line isn't an Underground line, it's a new mode of transport. Think of it like the RER in Paris and how it's different from the Paris Metro. It's like how the London Overground isn't a Tube line either but rather a suburban rail network currently operated by Arriva (and formerly MTR like the Elizabeth Line) on behalf of Transport for London. But in terms of beauty, our Pyongyang Metro has this beat by far

I've used crossrail a few times and it's amazing. It's fast, clean and plenty of space in the huge stations. Now we need crossrail 2 from south west London to north east London. To be honest, Thameslink the north to south line should surely be called crossrail 1, with the Elizabeth line being crossrail 2. That would make more sense because it actually does cross London, and also links many towns and cities in the south east of England. Anyway, I hope the Elizabeth line is extended in the future to link more of London's peripheral towns. It could continue to Dartford from Abbey Wood for example, or even continue to Gravesend or Rochester. In the west it could be extended to Basingstoke, Newbury and Oxford. I don't think this will happen but it's a good idea to extend the Elizabeth line to millions of other people in the region.

What an excellently well-made explainer video! I can tell a lot of effort went into the research and production of this so great video overall! Fun fact: The Elizabeth Line is actually NOT a tube line, according to the crossrail staff it is more of a "railway service running in tube environment", which is the reason why the stations along the route are all included in the national rail services network, unlike usual tube stations!

@@jandron94 That's actually a different story in the UK though. In the UK they got the franchising system which seperates maintenance and operation, in Lizzie Line's case, the operation is granted to MTR whilst the maintenance is still managed by Network Rail, subsidized by DfT. On the other hand the tube, track and operation are all managed by TfL, hence the tube stations that don't have a National rail services connection will not be counted into the network

It's a tube line and an underground line - running underground in a tube. The fundamental nature of the universe are not particles but fields. These are fluid-like substances that can be perturbed, they can vibrate and experience excitationsFields have the property that they can give their vibrations or energy away. If you shake the field hard enough, they will affect other fields. So in this decay, the energy of the quark fields of the Neutron can be transferred to the quarks fields of the Proton, plus electron field and antineutrino fields.Once you tap the field hard enough, however, a particle is created. This discrete unit of energy that the field can accept is what we call the rest mass energy of particles in a field. It is the fundamental amount of energy that must be added to the field in order to create a particle. Some particles like the Higgs Boson, require a lot of energy to create it. That’s why the Large Hadron collider had to be built to detect it.

I like this video, but I must say that I find the animations a bit to much. If you could dial it back by like 10% it would be easier to follow. I found them distracting because of the amount of animations in such a quick succession.

Isn’t it funny how one city gets 18 billion train line on top of a underground but the rest of the 50+ million people get £36bn between them 😂😂😂

We have always had transport across London. The North London Line, Circle Line, Metropolitan, Hammersmith, Central .. This is just one more shortcut. We don't need it. What we need is a line from Inverness to Truro, then Dover, then Bangor.

I am afraid you have made a pretty stupid error on your map at 10-14 - the terminus station is Abbey Wood - Stepney Green is over the river on the District line.

Abbey Wood is in South East London not East London. East London is North of the river Thames where as Abbey Wood is South of the river Thames.

Meanwhile: us up North have to wait 40 minutes for an overpriced bus that's covered in shite, you look like those skeletons they found by the time you get to the destination and the service stops at 9pm, mint 👍

I'm lucky to say that I actually travel on the line every day from ilford to London and back again 6 days a week and when the trains are running full service, it's comfortable, well air conditioned and the journey is always very comfortable (unless the service is disrupted and trains are full) it's a great addition to the London underground and all associated rail lines.

Impeccable video and thoroughly well researched! Don’t forget they also have capacity to extend the 7 car trains to 9 cars! And Tottenham Court Road is already future proofed should Crossrail 2 be built

It's not an underground line. It's heavy rail and more like an s bahn system. (The tube is completely different (those trains have generally short distances between stations. Where as the crossrail lines function more like main line railways (longer spaces between stations). There are lots of videos that explain the difference and explain why crossrail is not an underground line. I'd recommend watching Geoff marshal, jago hazard and rm transit, who all do good jobs explaining why cross rail is not part of the tune (on the same way that the paris rer is not part of the Paris metro. Other than that, this is a good video imo.

Well new metro lines in big cities like Paris and London are not really needed as in the same mid 20th century capacity. So much longer trains and much longer lines are now needed. The metro line 14 in Paris is an example of that, it is part of the metro network but so different with automization (such a big difference). I don't know much about S-bahn but I am not sure that in Germany extreme capacity is needed because they don't have mega dense cities like Paris or London. In Paris we will have to wait at least end of 2025 for a new line 15 that will be the first "suburb only" metro line. Before that the line 14 extention to Orly Airport is supposed to open in summer 2024. So let's say that in 2026 the Paris network will have changed as much as the London one has changed with the new Elizabeth line.
