Has anybody else noticed how the Israelis keep accusing Hamas of doing things the Israelis actually do? Like the systematic use of sexual violence by Israelis on Palestinians, there's the claim that all Palestinians are members of Hamas when it's Israel where all young people have military training. Plus the claim that Palestinians are raping and torturing hostages but the released hostages seem to be in reasonable health, while released Palestinian prisoners have clear signs of torture and starvation on their bodies.

Anybody who has looked at the history of sexual violence during wartime should smell a rat over claims of mass rape during combat. Soldiers in combat tend to be a little busy to engage in such indulgences. The rapes tend to be committed by occupation forces, who aren't quite so challenged to survive as are the combat forces. That pattern was well documented with both German and Russian occupation forces during WWII.

Another reason why newspapers shouldn't have private ownership. Sheryl Sandberg, Google billionaire, made a documentary on this "story". Ideally, print journalism should be controlled by a cooperative of independent journalists.
