A huge component of this war has to do with international strategy, power in the region and trying to enforce Western hegemony. Israel is an aircraft carrier, the business end of a Western gun. In that sense, saying the Germans are responsible is not incorrect, but it doesn't reflect the nuances of the situation, it loses the context. Germans are like any other European (less funny) but there's nothing unique about their support for genocide (the origin maybe, post-Holocaust cultural guilt).
