Same here. I loved trains as a kid and still do. If I see one coming and no one is behind me while I'm driving, I still stop to watch it go by. I always wanted to be a train engineer, alas, I was in the Air Force for 35 years, 1981-2016. Cheers from Canada.

Insane how long the the cross road is closed before arrival of the train.
@Matsir134 ай бұрын
It was even longer unfortunatly! I had to cut part of the video.... that's why in Brimsdown it's always trafic. Crossing the train tracks otherside can even take you 40 minutes. 😱😱
@nigelarmstrong2524 ай бұрын
Level Crossing, and yes it was a long time.
@Hoysa624 ай бұрын
Not a long time at all, if you think how fast the speed of a train is travelling 100+, the barriers going down have to give sufficent time for the crossing to be cleared of traffic and pedestrians before the train arrives, anything later the barriers would not be fully down by the time the train hits the crossing, that's why there is a few minutes delay before the train passes!!

When does the "high speed" train show up?
@KJames23455 ай бұрын
It doesn't the speed limit on this line is 90mph. Only lines that exceed 100mph is the GWR, WCML, ECML and MML, The Eurostar travels at 190mph. 😂

Kids must be held firmly by hand on railway station platforms when watching trains go by. Even the most disciplined ones can be so unpredictable. For instance, this boy, in his excitement, could have easily walked to the edge and fallen over the rails!
@Matsir135 ай бұрын
Much appreciated your concern! However, I can assure you he has very well been trained and looked after. ❤️❤️ Regards!

@@Matsir13Apparently now, because he crossed the yellow line and leaned over the side to try and see the train. That's very dangerous behavior. You should not cross the yellow line whether there is a train coming or not. I always stand no closer than about 5 feet from the edge. I've seen people almost fall onto the tracks, and have seen video of people being pushed. It doesn't take much force to push someone when they are extremely close to the edge.

The kid is save, if a train or freight train was to go pass the announcer at the station would of told the passengers, "the next train on platform 2 does not stop at the station, please stand back from the station edge"

@@Matsir13The Class 720 Aventra seen here isn't classified as high-speed, only having a top speed of 100mph. There are three high-speed trains in Britain (Class 373, 374, and 395, all with >140mph top speeds) and countless higher-speed ones (125-140mph), like the 390, 745, and 80X/810. The 720 seen here may have going at high speed (I estimate 70-80mph), but the train isn't high speed in and of itself.

Different line, no points. This station actually serves one of London's more useful industrial/stockholding areas. The pub just behind was dedicated to one of the first practical sports fishing books, The Compleat Angler, but didn't survive Covid, so now it's MacDonalds just across the tracks.

The UK does not have a lot of high speed,because of the local topography. Devon Cornwall,Wales and around the Midlands and north of.
