This film was made to mark the first 50 years of London Transport, celebrated in Golden Jubilee events in 1983. In style it followed British Transport Films as it uses much material shot by BTF. The music by Kenneth Victor Jones, regularly engaged as composer for BTF titles, was digitally recorded by session musicians in All Saints Tooting Graveney where the acoustic gave the sound an open feeling. As producer it was great fun to make this film with friends from London Transport and BTF

As a trained actor, I can understand the great fun that could be had on film sets, and the interest of some of the film studios, like Pinewood.

The 1973 stock still runs on the Piccadilly line, and the 1972mk2 stock currently runs on the Bakerloo line
@kingwolfgaming477415 күн бұрын
Yes, but the Piccadilly 1973 stock should start to be phased out this or next year?
@oludotunjohnshowemimo43415 күн бұрын
@kingwolfgaming4774 this year hopefully. For now the 73 stock will be running still.

Some of those tube stations back in the days appear rather dark and lacking lighting - or is it just me?
@kingwolfgaming477415 күн бұрын
Some of the stations today could do with a few more light bulbs.
@markpunt963815 күн бұрын
I think cameras in those days needed a lot more light.

Astonishing this is from the 80s, the whole look and sound of it is planted firmly in the late 40s.
@kingwolfgaming477415 күн бұрын
Well it is over 40 years old now, but I know what you mean.
@utterlee15 күн бұрын
@@kingwolfgaming4774 scary it's that long ago, but I reckon even in 1983 it would have looked anachronistic.
@A60stock14 күн бұрын
I was the producer. The writer, composer and editor had all worked for British Transport Films in the 1950,s and 60s and of course there is a significant amount of archive footage in the film.
