Such a great video, capturing so many features of this little town, fondly known as the ‘Queen of the Suburbs’ for its many green areas! I am a resident of Windsor Road, but because of the Covid pandemic, its been some years since I’ve been able to return home. This was truly a reminiscent journey with you! You made it feel so personal so thank you so much for that❤!! Did you know that Ealing is transitioning through a regeneration programme? The upgrade of Ealing Broadway Station has just been completed to accommodate the Liz Line and Crossrail. The work is now finished and a beautiful new frontage is promised to the Haven Green area of Ealing Broadway! Would love another updated walk around Ealing Broadway with you to see all the new and modern improvements! You’ve done a great job, I love the personal touch of your camerawork which makes it feel like we’re walking right there beside you! A first class job, well done! 🥇 🏆

Born in mainland Europe, but spent my teenagehood in Ealing and neighboring boroughs like Brentford, Isleworth, a bit of Twickenham etc., but Ealing was always within my reach (bus, bicycle, walk). Then went to TVU (now University of West London as we can see here in this video). Walked up and down this road a hundreds of times. Spent plenty of time at The Ealing Broadway Shopping Centre and Ealing Broadway itself. The Walpole Park is a very nice place too. Lots of students used to spend their leasure time over there. Watching this video it brings back a lot of nice memories from the 90s.

Did this walk many a time when I lived in the area during the 60's and 70's. The development makes much unrecgnisable but other parts are still as lovely. So many trees. Thanks for posting. Most enjoyable.

I was there in 2019 and again in June this year with my family, visiting my parents who still live in Ealing. I lived there until 2009, and know the area intimately. So much local history on this walk, and so many memories for me personally. At the start we see a lot of people with luggage, coming from or going to Heathrow most likely. The New Inn is bigger on the inside than it looks, and a great location for a pub lunch, with a small garden out back. The Red Lion pub was the hangout for actors from Ealing Studios just across the road; lots of old signed photographs on the walls. The war memorial outside Pitzhanger Manor is always worth taking a moment to pause and remember those who gave their lives so we could have a better world. The tops of the driveway gateposts are the same shape as the old London phone booths, because the booth designer copied them - they shed the rain well but not over the doorway. The Manor used to house Ealing Library many years ago, but now functions mostly as an art gallery. The High Street between Ealing Green and the Ealing Broadway Centre was the site of the attack of the shop manikins in an early Jon Pertwee Dr Who Episode. The guy running the ice cream van in the shopping center does that every day for ten hours a day six months - then helps his dad's house decorating business (as I recall he told me) in the off-season. The Carphone Warehouse building on the corner near the end of the walk was close to the location of the last successful IRA bombing in Britain in 2001. Fortunately nobody was injured as I recall, it's thought the timer was set wrong. Had it gone off at pub closing time it would have been much worse. What strikes me (watching from Oregon and almost wishing I was back in Ealing) is the bustling multi-cultural crowds, and the number of eat in or takeaway food and drink options. Small cafes everywhere, you'd think there would not be enough demand but they all seem to do a roaring trade.

You deffo know your history of Ealing Ziploc 😊 it’s so strange watching a video of a place you know intimately! I know every part of this walk, my sister lived in West Ealing when I was young and I use to always walk up to Ealing Broadway or to the local parks in the area! I know South Ealing well and every part of the Broadway makes me smile 😊 it’s strange how an area can resonate with one’s soul lol the fact you even knew where the actors use to hang out shows you can leave Ealing but Ealing never leaves you 😉

When I worked and lived in Ealing in the 1970s celebrities would walk in to my office. Ealing had been significant to so many musicians in the 1960s.

I lived in Ealing until the 1970s and still miss it every day... This video starts off filming outside my friends house! Since living in a quiet Cambridgeshire village I can't tolerate the traffic noise in this video! One favourable point... No disabled people in the vid! Here there's people limping everywhere! Another good thing is quite a bit of laughter in the passers by in Ealing... I miss that. South Ealing... I learnt how to Indian dance and my son had ballet lessons as a toddler... Parties and parties... I hope anyone living in Ealing and loving Ealing thinks carefully before moving away. It's lovely living in a rural village but variety it is not.

It might be because 'Ealing' can describe two areas. There's the original area of Ealing (generally a very nice area) which is shown a fair amount in this video, and then there's the London Borough of Ealing as a whole, which is one of the biggest boroughs in London and encompasses various different areas, many of which aren't as classy.
