Nick Aldridge was my ex husband and a really good guitarist, all the band were great musicians and Robert’s lyrics were poetry! They were very underrated at the time. Robert Sandall went on to present shows on BBC radio and became a writer. He sadly died in 2010. Drummer David Sinclair became a rock critic for The Times and also a writer. I’m so pleased to have come across this on KZbin as it brings back many happy memories of them gigging around London and Scotland, where they were very popular, for some reason! Thanks!

Hi Elizabeth, curiously enough I had lunch with my brother David last weekend and London Zoo cropped up in the conversation. We obviously knew of Robert's sad passing but David said that despite trying to track Nick down he'd drawn a blank.....I wonder if you could enlighten us at all. Best wishes, John Sinclair

Back in 1980, my good friend (and soon to be Hacienda DJ) Graeme Park and I caught a London Zoo gig in Kirkcaldy and immediately arranged to see them again a couple of days later in Dunfermline. They had an energy we two 17yo Scottish lads couldn't get enough of... I still have the singles and pics of the night(s). Oh and the encore of "Next To You" was also a highlight :-)

j sinclair - hi John, I remember you! I can’t help with tracking Nick unfortunately. We divorced 30 years ago and had no contact since. I’ve lived in Brighton almost as long too, so no connections in London now.

I don't remember buying this single as a teenager, but I now consider it one of the gems in my collection.

I love this band. They truly had their own sound. A shame they seem to have only recorded a few tunes.
