My son came home from school one day, and he was SO excited - Mom! You gotta hear this!! Lay down on the sofa, as he inserts a cassette tape in the player, through the speakers comes Pink Floyd. I stopped the tape, he looks shocked and I said come with me. We went into the attic and i showed him my vinyl collection, every album up to that point. He was amazed. From that point on we were musical buddies. Don't let a busy life prevent you from knowing each other! It's magical when you bond over music. ❤

I've listened to this album thousands of times since it came out in 1975 and the way Floyd just effortlessly rolls into a groove still gets me every time. So, so glad that, for the untold billions of years that the universe has existed, I got to be here right when Pink Floyd existed.

I had a good friend who would swipe this cassette tape out of my car whenever we were in my car in the 80s. After losing 5 tapes through the years, it became a joke we would laugh about. We were friends since the 1st grade, he truly was a great friend just couldn't resist this album. We were still best of friends when he finally passed in 91 on the eve of his 30th birthday from cancer. I was with him an hour before he passed at LI Jewish hospital in Manhasset LI. Before I left, I gave him a kiss on his temple and whispered in his ear, its ok to go now. RIP Dave, wish you were here.

I did not appreciate this recording when it first came out. After playing it a few times, it grew on me and now I do appreciate it. You folks will not understand this but, it was the last recording of theirs that I did like. I am picky. If you do not like this recording, may I suggest you try listening to it a few times before throwing it out. It is a good recording. It just takes a few listens before it makes sense. They were clearly upset with the music industry as a whole and, they still grieved the loss of the man they once knew as Syd.

Gorgeous animation, the natural colours complementing the compelling images. It is a pity the Wall feature film (1982) did not include more of Gerald Scarfe’s fascinating drawings, the robustly directed live action being uncomfortably ill at ease with the never less than brilliant art work. A ‘Yellow Submarine’ for the eighties, only much tougher in theme, would have been great.

My hobby is to do this kind of stuff so I'm glad you enjoyed it. Check out my Stanley Kubrick "Meddle" compilation. If you like Meddle and like Kubrick movies I think you'll like that trip as well. KZbin blocked me from posting the 2001/Echoes combo but there are many versions on YT. Pay attention to the lyrics and whats going on in the video, it oddly worked out for most of the songs.
