I have ridden on this route before but can not remember when. Also was it the voith 4 gearbox?

Esther Urowayino Could be a voith as I have heard other buses with Voith make that deceleration. Voith's also like to whistle during acceleration, and some say that is coming from the Retarder or Transmission brake, though ZF ecomats like to whistle as well.

Off peak? Not every bus will be full of people, TfL provide bus services the whole day, 24/7 on some routes
