Many thanks for all your kind words and comments. I was the Ex Life Guard that spoke to John. I have known John for a few years we bump into each other every now and then when I’m in Whitehall. Was not expecting John to ask me all the questions on camera but I did my best to answer everything John asked me about my time and career in the HCAV. I did 22 years and left as a COH. Thanks again John always good to see you. Keep up the amazing work you do.

That’s a great interview! In this crazy world a stranger should NEVER be allowed to give a horse any thing to eat! Especially being a military horse! Just like a policeman’s dog or a service animal! I cannot explain the complications, but talk to someone who trained them and you will understand more! John maybe you could look into it and explain it to the people why you should not be touching the horse or giving it anything to eat just like a service dog police dog or whatever, talk to someone who trained them and the problems that it causes! Animals that are trained to protect, that animal would have his space invaded that he is trained to protect! It could be very dangerous! One Way or another for the animal or for the handler! John, nice part two. However, I think you aren't getting used to the new year...you put down the date as 22.1. 2024! 😂 But, common mistake as I took a few days to type 2024 at the beginning of last year too. I like the veteran lifeguard you spoke to in this video. He was a lot more respectful of the troopers and spoke with the understanding of the present circumstances which require the new rules. He even mentioned the craziness of the social media and the disrespectful tourists etc. I think he was very reasonable in what he said as compared to the other veteran you spoke to the other day, who unnecessarily criticised the guard. Enjoyed the chat you had with the veteran in this video. 😊

First congratulations on reaching the 90 K mark 😀. Two very interesting interviews , the retired Life Guard provided lots of information that most people won't know , especially that soldiers can train as Farriers , Tailors or Saddlers . I mentioned last year about a Lance Bombadier from KTRHA who has become the first female Military Farrier after 3 years training . The Saddlers are trained and pass their Lorinery exams . We've also seen those trained as Riding Instructors , P.T Instructors and Parachute trained . So as he said they're not " chocolate soldiers " who just sit on horses and wear funny " costumes " ( I've seen much worse ignorant comments sadly ) . Interesting about the gatesman standing on the cobbles in the courtyard in his day , I suspect that was changed for security reasons and with the influx of more tourists , we've seen how standing at the front for any length of time ,usually by the Blues results in them being mobbed ! Sorry I've already written an essay , have a good evening or day everyone depending on where you are 😊

For those asking, "What is an auditor?", the reality is that they're simply people calling themselves that with their focus being to simply record media content and perhaps, in some cases, provoke reactions for content. It's a self imposed term they place on themselves. If you google the National Protective Security Authority for the UK, then enter "auditors" into their search box, you'll get the link on which to click taking you to their explanatory document, explaining the concerns, etc., and information for government employees on how to deal with them when they try to provoke reactions from the employees. This guy, wearing a body camera, and then covering his face when he realised he was on camera is, to me, obviously hoping the police will approach him so he can create content.

Isn't that what the spammers do?
@heatherharvey31298 күн бұрын
@@maggiemadwestiemum4511 To quote Shakespeare....... "A rose by any other name". 😉 However, most spammers are not deliberately trying to provoke a reaction, just film daily events while hyping it up in the titles, editing, voiceovers, etc. Many of those calling themselves "auditors" do try to provoke to get reactions from the police, guards, etc., while filming, to create additional drama and sometimes to push their personal agendas across social media.

Good Morning John, Have a Happy Day 🔆 quick comment,i don't know if you heard, it snowed in Georga , Louisiana, Carolina, Florida, USA. . My main comment is about your interview with this Great Man, he did answer questions i we curious how everything works, from the Horses to the Guardsmen, and Military Facility. And most of all, apologize to these Guardsmen, because Times i became critical of Guardsmen,. when I saw these tourist who because abusive towards horse, and didn't correct their behavior. Excellent interview
@PeterMcCracken-n3g9 күн бұрын
If the movement of the Gateman was to revert to how the Trooper explained, then all that would be needed would be a circle or box painted on the cobbles in the courtyard. That in itself would still be problematic due to the Hugh numbers of tourists on any given day. Thankyou Trooper Walker for sharing with us and John about your time at Horse Guards. Cheers.

It might have been nice to touch the horses, but in your older videos you could see how the Kings Guard and the horses were really harassed and so I think the decision not to touch the white box and the horses is a good one. I must say John, This was extremely interesting and enlightening. Your questions to your friend the retired Life Guard really shows the changes that have had to be made because of the number of tourists. The auditor that you talked to was interesting too. Before they painted the white lines, I really felt bad for the horses being mauled by everyone. How could you be sure that what was being offered to the horses to eat was good for them. I guess trust is a lot lower these days, than back in the 1950s and 1960s when I was a child. We used to go off all afternoon up to the woods to play, our parents never worried about us. With no watches we always arrived home in time for tea time. Thank you for your interesting recordings. Ronnie in Saskatchewan
