Brendan Fraser's emotional speech for Best Actor Award

Tearful Brendan Fraser hailed his comeback from “the wilderness” as he triumphed at the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards.
The 54-year-old took home the best actor award for his performance in The Whale, which, he said, was about “finding the light in a dark place”.

Brendan Fraser first time I saw him in The Mummy. Since then I am big fan of him. Yesterday I saw the 🐋 in Sydney in theatre. God I was crying and crying all my facial tissues were wet of tears. Everyone in theatre was crying and clapped at the end of the movie. Kudos to the director and sweet Charlie. And yes...I wanna tell one more thing. I love his movie Bedazzled too. There are few celebrities who you can look up to. Brendan is one of those rare ones. One can't conceive of the courage that takes a man to talk of sexual assault. If not for him and others who gathered the strength to out perverts, workplaces and social gatherings would have a few more predators. That makes Brendan more than a star. He is a 'hero'. Did it occur to you that if you have to ask yourself “why didn’t he make up something more believable”, the answer might be because it wasn’t made up? He didn’t get groped in front of 200 people. Private spaces still exist as public events, genius, and there have been reported, proven cases of similar scenarios for years. Frankly, the act of groping was something that obnoxious people felt more safe doing to others back in a time like 2003 and prior, especially if they “knew” they’d get away with it. They were never alone. I bothered to read Berk's book published 4 years before Fraser's allegations in 2018. Why didn't he come forward then call Berk a liar and tell his side of the story? Because he hadn't made it up yet. If it was just one lie, that would be one thing, but he's told so many.
