Fantastic video and loved your way of explaining things. I am new to time-lapse and moon photography just started to learn it. I am wondering ....can we see subject from 20 miles? Does curvature of earth any hindrance if subject and we are on same altitude ? I saw you looking at back of you screen after pic is taken but i can not see if shutter speed and nterval gap is short like one sec....what is the trick? I think you shot this beautiful video in manual mode. I do not know much about video editing but can we zoom while editing?
@LondonViewpoints3 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, yes so you can see for 20miles but I don’t know the exact science behind earths bending, but tall skyscrapers you can see for even 40miles I think if not more. Yes I shot 1s interval and 0.6” shutter. The raw files are 6k and this was zoomed in post to 100% 1080p of that 6k so plenty of room in post to zoom in digitally and not have to scale up 👍🏻

Awesome time lapses. I can see a lot of work and planning went in to those. A friend has lent me a Sigma 150-600 so I had a go at shooting the Flower Moon last month and was pleased with the results. I'd like to try a time lapse with moon setting or rising like you've done. Got any tips? How did you know where to point your camera before the moon rose? I know there are sites/apps that tell you what degrees or show direction on a map but how do you line up the camera so exactly?

Thanks a lot, yes there’s quite a bit that goes into location and alignment research, however all that is done in PhotoPills app, it’s the one app you absolutely need 👍🏻plenty of tutorials online too

How do you manage focusing? I tried to put in manual focus on 200mm lens while shooting day to night timelapse and it was getting colder outside after sunset and as far as I understand because of temperature change in lens itself it got out of focus and ruined my timelapse.
@LondonViewpoints3 жыл бұрын
This was super quick, only a 15min timelapse but I know what you mean on a day to night, it can happen, to prevent it I would always disconnect the lens, to avoid the aperture flicker and that perhaps causing the focus to shift but also using some clothes to wrap around the lens and maybe even put some hand warmers inside to keep the warm temperature on the lens👍🏻good luck
